Whatever happened to Terry Eliis of En Vogue?

VH1 Soul is playing the single from her solo effort-that song called Wherever You Are-where is Terri these days and what is she up to?

Isn't En Vogue back together? If they are, I would imagine she's working with them. If not, she's probably just being a mom or whatever.

Here's an interesting point from Wikipedia (you know I'm itching to just say GOOGLE here):

In 2005, Ellis was featured in the Stevie Wonder music video "So What The Fuss" with her original En Vogue group members Dawn Robinson, Maxine Jones and Cindy Herron. She also played one of Chanté Moores friends in the Music video "Chanté's Got a Man" in 1999.

With fellow group member Cindy Herron having taken a leave from the group around 2004-2005, Terry Ellis is the only original member of En Vogue to have never left the group during any point in time.

Her cousin is Thomas Howard who plays linebacker for the Oakland Raiders in the NFL.

According to Wiki, sometimes, she's been the ONLY group in its original form.

If you compare what the rest of the Supremes and the rest of En Vogue had to deal with, yeah you can say that...

Yes, they are playing there again this June.

I enjoyed Terry's solo album, too bad she never made a 2nd one.

No she's not the Diana Ross of En Vogue, she just didn't play the "Look pretty, be submissive like a good bitch and STFU" role shrug

Of course, in this ass-lickin' industry, this attitude is bound to hurt a career, and true to form, it cost Dawn hers.

Thats why Ray Saadiq says "she's crazy" wacky but there's 2 sides of every story, just ask Ali Shaheed Mohammed, and you wouldn't think she's crazy.

hmmm I see... she did mention that she had to deal with label politics while with En Vogue and she felt her band mates weren't quite understanding of what she was trying to tell them. shrug

Your right... Dawn gets labeled as the trouble maker but she stood up to Sylvia Rhone and that all about sealed her fate with the group at the time.. and I remember Ali talking about how Mr Saadiq did her wrong..

Exactly. nod

Dawn was THE only member wise enough to NOT sign a CONtact renewal when she knew En Vogue were going to get screwed by The WB Music Group.

Can you imagine how the careers of Kelly Clarkson & Alicia Keys would be very different if they had to guts to stand up to Clive Davis the same way Dawn Robinson stood up to Sylvia Rhone?!?

From what I can remember, it was Terry that started dating one of the guys that discovered En Vogue. So, that mixed with the fact that she is the only member who has been with the group from its creation would qualify her as the "Diana".
Anywhay, the original line-up of the group performed on this past BET award show with Alicia Keys, SWV, and Chili/T-Boz. It was actually nice seeing everyone together performing. The song that was earlier referred to was from Terry's album that she did when the group was on a break of sorts.

I agree also. I recently watched Phyllis Hymen's Unsung story. And learned that she got dropped from the label when Clive "discovered" Whitney Houston. She was an incredible talent, but she didn't always go along with what Clive wanted and was very vocal about it to boot. So, yes, it doesn't matter if you're talented or not; if you don't play the game, your career could be over.
