Janet should be inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame I think it's high time:
*her "RN 1814" is the only album in history with 7 top 5 Billboard Hot 100 hits *"Control" was the first album to have 5 consecutive top 5 Hot 100 hits *her RN Tour is still the highest grossing debut tour by any artist in history, and still holds the record for fastest sell-out at the Tokyo Dome *she is the only female singer in the history of Rock & Roll to score 5 back to back #1 studio albums on the Billboard Album's chart. "Control", "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation", "Janet", "The Velvet Rope" and "All For You" all reached #1..."Damita Jo" and "20 Y.O." debuted at #2 and "Discipline" debuted at #1 *"RN 1814" is the only album in history to produce #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in three separate calendar years ["Miss You Much" in 1989, "Escapade" and "Black Cat" in 1990, and "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" in 1991] *she is second to Aretha Franklin as the female with the most R&B #1s *With "Black Cat," Janet became the first artist to score a #1 hit simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock singles charts *she is the only artist in history to be nominated in the Pop, Rock, Dance, R&B and Rap categories at the Grammys *her "janet." album was the first Soundscan-era album by a female to debut at #1 *she, to this day, inspires many fans and female performers alike with her innovative videos (over 40 to date), choreography and live performances *she signed two record-breaking deals with Virgin Records in the '90s, which, at the time, made her the highest-paid female artist in history *second most successful female artist of the '90s *all of her films to date have debuted at #1 at the US box office *her songs are still being sampled today *she has more Billboard awards (34) than any other artist in history *#2 female Billboard Dance Chart artist *first-crowned MTV Icon *When the song "All For You" went to #1 in 2001, it made her the first artist to score a Hot 100 #1 in the '80s, '90s and '00s. And when "Make Me" went to #1 on the Dance chart, it made her the first artist to achieve a #1 in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s on any chart *her influence on the newer generation of female artists is evident in their videos and performances *she is one of the biggest-selling artists in history *she has amassed 27 top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 *Several of her albums have been on definitive R&R "Albums of All Time" lists *achieved Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for her song "Again" *appeared in Guiness Book of World records several times [Edited 3/23/10 12:51pm] "Get up off that grey line"

I think it's a bit early still for her. She's been eligible for 3 years now, but at only 44, she should still get some more things under her belt before it gets to that level.

Stevie Wonder got in at 38. Michael got in at 38 with the Jackson 5 (and 42 as a solo artist) so age don't really make a difference if you've been in the industry for 25 years plus.

She should so be in, but because her achievements are underrated and downplayed, i'll be shocked if she's put in anytime soon. Hope I wrong about this, but the RRHOF is so biased. It'll be also be interesting to see if Whitney is able to get in in her 1st year of eligibility.

I think Whitney was eligible in 2009.She better not get in before Janet. That's just unacceptable.

If the SB is the reason she's not yet in there, then screw all those who vote. It's beyond ridiculous at this point. "Get up off that grey line"

I agree. I think she was on her after the All for You era. Everyone was praising her as an icon and legend then.

Of course she deserves to be inducted, there's no question about it.
I think that Janet will be more respected when she's 50 than she is now. The Beatles are more respected now than they were in the 70s and 80s. Sometimes, ppl just need time, and then they can look back and realize how great someone is. Janet is still at a very young age for a legend. There's still this crazy idea looming that Janet never deserved her success, or that she's a has been. In about 5 years, I think all that mess will go away, and ppl will realize just how much she has accomplished. Also, if she puts out a some critically acclaimed albums for the next few years, the likelyhood of her getting in sooner will shoot up.
