I love how artists just go on the road and still dont have their shit together, anyone who thouhgt she could do a tour is kidding themselves, she cant even get through appearances let alone a 2 hour show. But lets not make that excuse that touring is a killer, because it aint if you arent on shit or are in shape

I know im going to sound really harsh when I say this but . . .

more fool anyone for buying a ticket for this tour, its been one train wreck of a performance after another.

If she could use Oprah's interview as an excuse for her shabby performance on GMA or whereever it was. How on earth could anyone expect she was going to be firing on all cylinders on a fully fledged tour.

This is a desperate withdrawel from a once profitable cash cow. It just saddens me that those around her really dont have her best interests at heart because she is doing even worse damage to her legacy than the crack rumours ever did.

She should be doing the odd date here & there, not running before she can even crawl muchless walk.

I don't think either of them have a choice though, Paul.

Thats the fucked up thing about being in a major label, if you have financial obligations, the payback is a 'by any means necessary', it doesn't even matter if your reputation is on the line(which is clearly the case),,,,and if she ever rebelled and said "I'm not in a good shape, to hell with this tour", forget about reputation, she'll never work again.

I guess being Clive Davis' lil' princess has its valuable price.

"She is now up on stage, warts and all, presenting herself like an open book for the world to see and they want to ridicule Whitney, he said. I am personally amazed at the few who are trying to derail the project. If they expected to hear Whitney of 20 years ago, go buy a CD.

If they wanted to see a true professional artist give 100 per cent, well come along and enjoy the ride of an amazing talent, on stage, letting her heart and soul out for us all to enjoy."

The Australian leg of her world tour is set to continue in Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Melbourne and Adelaide.

And there you have it! I applaud you, Whitney's producer, whoever you are, it doesn't matter; yes I simply applaud you!

The people who TRULY LOVE AND SUPPORT WHITNEY, WILL COME and keep coming. It's okay if they rest stays at home and buys a CD.
Everyone who ever sang professionally knows a voice needs to be developed and such can only be done by actually SINGING.
Specially after a long 'non-singing-period' vocal cords need to be trained, gradually re-developed into their full potential;
this truly doesn't happen overnight, not even within months.

In my opinion, people should do themselves a favour and please stay at home with their own frustrations,
if they don't have patience and insiders knowledge about professional singing. If you don't have true compassion for her
and TRULY LOVE Whitney, no worries, there are a lot of people who DO and those will be the ones having a good time at her concerts.

It's no use going to a concert with false expectations. Isn't it people's own problem when they get disappointed under their own false expectations?... hmmm

This is The World and Houston will solve any problem with LOVING SUPPORT.

razz Now go home and tell Yo Momma about that! wink

Bring it on! Whitney biggrin

There is an easy solution.

All AEG has to do is give everyone a "free" CD with every concert ticket. This can be on the CD.

Sadly thats it right there, we all know how Clive rolls.

Its just awfull watching this train wreck unfold.

I hear a lot of talk about "oh her voice could never be what it was 20 years ago blah blah blah" Look at Natalie Coles fall from grace & subsequant comeback, she had totally lost her once great voice if you listen to those last few albums she did for capital but she eventually managed to get her voice back (the same can even be said for Mary) unfortunatly these greedy people around her are doing unrepairable damage to what was once THE VOICE sad

If I know I'm sounding a mess and struggling to hit notes, I'd say SCREW THE TOUR! She better hire Debra Wilson to fill in for her

I'm thinking it could be these things:

Vocal nodules
Cigarettes
Talking before shows
No voice training
Bad stage setting

All of that could've been contributors to what we hear.

I feel bad for her,,,,ALL of those "grand diva entrances/exits" she invested on her live set are the ONLY high points in her performances, but if they couldn't hide the fact that she ain't "The voice" no more.

Deep down I feel bad 4 her 2. Hopefully everything will work itself 4 the best.

I'd have to agree with this statement. I didn't think she was ready anyway. Maybe she won't ever be ready at this point. I'm not a vocal coach but, I don't know if the vocal cords could ever be salvaged when they're so damaged after years of abuse. Either way, this ain't a good look.

If not, maybe she could diversify herself. It's too bad she never was songwriter.

After this tour ends, she will have to sit down and re-evaluate things.Maybe she could get back into acting?

I hate to say this, because I have nothing *against* Whitney, but even in her prime, she wasn't an exciting concert presence.

She had a beautiful voice, but absolutely no idea about how to keep an audience. I saw her at MSG in NYC back in '86. She was definitely "rhythmless nation" and almost put us all to sleep.

And this was when I LOVED Whitney.

I only wish her well these days, but she's got 20 years of damage to recover from.

I read some reviews from then and some were basically criticizing her for not being so entertaining. They totally bashed her during the 1990-1991 tour.

Whitney tried to tell Clive that she didn't think it was necessary for her to make a comeback attempt to begin with. Clive was still in good business with Kelly Clarkson & Alicia Keys. But the old man wasn't satisfy with young Whitney-clones. He wanted his original chocolate valley girl back in the stereo and on-stage to help him take back the industry from the likes of Beyonce & Lady Gaga.

And now poor Whitney is getting laugh at for being a total failure. F*** Clive Davis for this crap!

Whitney isn't supposed to be performing like this until she's 80 with all that Judy Garland half-singing onstage with people crying and her dying after the gig.

AEG and Clive are hurting Whitney by letting her perform like this.

Even though she is rich and a legend she may have to depend on lucrative performance fees since she isn't a songwriter and won't get residual publishing income.

She should be like Streisand wowing people with her gift and making a nice payday but she is more like Sly Stone. And it's hurting any chance of a legacy she may have.

nod you got that right. MJ was such a perfectionist, if he knew he sounded off he'd lip synch in a second. His main concern was always his fans, he would have never disappointed them the way Whitney has disappointed hers with this charade.

My thing is, she has the nerve to still act "diva" live....for instance I saw her on the BET Honors, her attitude was so snooty. And now this, she can't even back it up? Her time is up.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Nippy has ALWAYS been snooty(she's a LEO razz ) lol But it got bigger these years to make up for her singing shortcomings, and from what we all can see, the ass kissing from her people and fans alike put her in this predicament.

Yeah, unfortunately, thanks to the internet; this story is catching entertainment news fire here in the states. Most of my local morning radio shows covered her "dreadful" concert reviews. So, the story hit stateside in no time. They better figure out something before she's further embarrassed by not selling tickets. Considering that everyone knows her story, if she's unredeemable for now, they'll be better off calling off remaining dates and say she's not ready for the hard demands of the road and heavy touring yet. This story is less damaging than sucking so much that people want their money back, or due to word of mouth, Whitney can't sell tickets anymore. That's just my opinion. Clive should have to eat this one. He shouldn't have rushed her.
