How many of you remember THIS one-hit wonder from 1996 (a synth-pop classic at that!)? White Town -- Your Woman
My favor parts of this track are the synth bass riffs and the hand claps. But this is even better as a 12" version.

I remember it - I even liked it at the time, although it was released slighty later in my country (1997). I just checked the chart for the whole year and the track was the 14th most popular song in Iceland in 1997.
I wasn't very vocal about liking it though, as I thought a lot of the kids at my school (I was 15 years old back then) would have automatically assumed I was gay if I admitted to liking this type of music. I was desperately hoping to hook up with some girls at my school at the time (like any straight teenage boy would) so I didn't want any confusion about my sexuality. I was mostly into rock music like Pearl Jam, Korn, Live and The Red Hot Chili Peppers at the time, so most people I interacted with at the time would be surprised I liked this stuff. Well I'm a very straight man and I never had any issues about the male vocalist singing lyrics from the female character's point of view (Didn't Prince kinda use THIS very same tactic years earlier?!? ). But then again, I was age 22 AND a grown man with freedom to listen to whatever kind of music that I well pleased. And beside, the synth & drum arrangements on Your Woman are great to my ears.

I wasn't into Prince at the time... I did occasionally hear his stuff on the radio or see his videos on TV during this period but I would just ignore it and didn't explore his music further even if I liked the older stuff I saw on VH-1 at the time, like "1999" or "Purple Rain"....

I do and I like it. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."

Nice pick Tony. Getting all nostalgic about mid 90's music LOL. Reminds me of something Stereo MC's or some group like that would do for some reason?
Never liked it much though LOL.
