Timmy84 said: missfee said: And why not? I thought that they were quite funny...they shouldn't have been singing at all, those parts made me cringe, but other than that, I think they kept the show from being boring. Who else would you had, had hosting it? Monique again? Steve Harvey? Katt Williams? No they weren't. AHHHHH! I'm leaving this alone. Y'all jumping on me. We're clowning the show on Twitter right now. WaterInYourBath said: missfee said: Well opinions are like assholes, everybody has one, but in my book she's a great performer and talented vocalist. Umm, ok. No one said she isn't a good vocalist. On audio, she sounds great. But her performance style is distracting, not enhancing. Making involuntary facial expressions (such as frowns or squints) like Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, or even MJ while singing is very different from the drama Michele shows. I'm not the only one who sees that, lol. But she's getting paid for it, so cool, enjoy it if you like. (Bolded part) Well at least she gets paid for her musical expressions, unlike her critics. I like her sound. She seems to be doing very well.

I will say this:
The ladies had the best performances. Not all of them mind you lol And why am I hearing there was only two members of Boyz II Men during the Motown medley and another short-ass MJ tribute? #iblamebet

Well my final say is this, I loved the show, though it wasn't the best awards show I've seen in my life, it was definitely a breath of fresh air of how award shows have become these days. I was glad to see Charlie Wilson and Chaka Kahn honored. I loved seeing Chico Debarge, Johnny Gill, Raheem DeVaughn, CHRISETTE MICHELE, Erykah Badu, Ledisi, Angie Stone, Keith Sweat, and Brian McKnight ALL perform, they were great. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

No not a pitchfork, just giving our opinions, such as you are. Point is, some of us either liked portions of the show or not at all, however, I saw no coonery or minstrel sh*t, just some light humor. Timmy, remember..it's okay for Black folks to laugh sometimes...'kay? Anyhooooo....I thought the Soul Train Awards was pretty okay. Raheem and Chrisette were my favorite. Adios! That's actually an improvement for Michele compared to when I last saw her perform on TV, which was like a Kim Wayans skit from "In Livin' Color" or something. There was another singer who used to over-act with the facial expressions and movements like Chrissette does now. Who was that, Nancy Wilson? Nancy can act a fool too but no the way she was flapping her arms made me think of my baby Ms. LaBelle. I liked the performance.

Ginuwine wasn't giving me what I needed either. smh

But Michelle's rare jazz-soul style is not popular like Hilson's ordinary r&b-pop songs/videos. I hope that changes one day. I'm glad I'm checking out the RRHOF concert. I'm watching Stevie Wonder segment. He performed with Smokey Robinson, "The Way You Make Me Feel" tribute to MJ with John Legend. He got emotional and had to stop for a bit halfway through. Then he performed with B.B. King. Now I'm watching him performing "Higher Ground" and "Roxanne" with Sting. He wrapped up with Jeff Beck on "Superstitious." [Edited 11/29/09 20:58pm] "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
