Memory jarred. I tell you who hosted the Soul Train Awards that year Chaka was honored, Luther Vandross. I remember cuz I told my mommma. I knew my ass was getting old when the only people I recognized was Mr. Vandross, Ms. Knight, and Sista Franklin. When they gave her the award they played "I Know You, I Live You" as she walked to the stage. Don't ask me why this is picken with my nerve.
