Its really not her fault. Most R&B artist (women of color) arent doing well these days. Mya had to do 'Dancing with the stars' just to get her name back out there. I just think if she works with the right producers and get some good promotion she'll get back out there. I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.

I'd watch that for sure much like Mya. Mya's been getting alot of good press and publicity for her appearance on 'Dancing With The Stars'.She rejuvenated her career.Amerie should consider going this route too.

I just recently rented this album from the library with LeToya's new album 'Lady Love' and to be totally honest, I'd buy LeToya's 'Lady Love' before I bought Amerie's 'In Love & War'. I don't hate the album, but it's not doing much for me. I only really love two songs on the entire disc; everything else is just okay.
These two songs are fierce! Prince Rogers Nelson

Just because Mya has appeared on Dancing With The Stars doesn't mean that record comanies want her anymore. The same applies to that no-talent Kelly Osborne.

In the other Amerie thread I mentioned liking a few songs from her album. I realize I haven't played any of those songs again. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Wow! I was gonna post the same thing!, However I am a Mint Condition fan. She desecrated a beautiful song. "Bring friends, bring your children and bring foot spray 'cause it's gon' be funky." ~ Prince

wasn't L.A. Reid all over this? has he lost his magical touch?
and about Amerie, who i do like, maybe acting? I could see her in the Last Dragon remake. If anyone's going to fill Vanity's shoes in that role, might as well be her and not Rihanna or someone else annoying

Whoa! That is a BIG hell no on a Last Dragon remake. Leave that shit alone! Amerie already remade Pretty Brown Eyes and fucked that up royally. I don't want to know what she would do to a remake of one of my childhood faves "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

well i personally don't want the movie to be remade either, but Gordy's son is going through with it and already cast Samuel Jackson for the role of Sho'nuff. I just couldn't bare to see someone like Rihanna or the I-am-everywhere Beyonce play Laura Charles would you be happier with Kristinia DeBarge? phunkdaddy said: You wrong for that.

true, but I think Mya is in a better position (career-wise) than she was before 'Dancing In The Stars'.It's a popular show that is watched by millions and she almost won.The publicity may translate into some new opportunites for her.

Awwwww!!! Why y'all hatin' on Amerie 4? Come on now. It's Christmas. Stop it. She's beautiful, she's a GREAT dancer and she's got more talent than 1/2 these chix that are ridin' the top of da charts. I like her voice; it's raspy and she projects. So I'd say it's a matter of personal preference. When I first saw her "1-Thing" video, I was floored! I couldn't believe the beauty b4 my eyes and dem BEATS...DAMN! She needs 2 get off this Hip Hop thing she's been stuck on (lately) and get with some good producers. Wasn't she supposed to have worked with Jam & Lewis for the Shark's Tale Soundtrack? I could have sworn I read datt somewhere. Why not get back with Rich Harrison, or maybe now even HIS sound is dated? Things move so fast in the music industry these days that it's hard 2 keep up with the sounds of the day. Sorry...I'm an Old School bro and back in da day, there was more originality, more substance and more variety. No one really sounded like anyone else and hey...give her props for not having subscribed to having her voice autotuned. Seriously, that's used for vocal correction/enhancement, not for sport unless you're Roger Troutman. My thoughts for the 2nd day b4 Christmas. No offense intended. I'm just being me. Peaceout and Happy Holly DAZE, y'all. xo Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

ITA I haven't heard any of Amerie's new music. But she can't be worse than what's out there now, based on the stuff she's done in the past. The whole entire entertainment industry only panders to teeny boppers now. For some strange reason, there is no room for variety or mature things that adults like. Once again, Amerie should be like Kelly Rowland and cater to the overseas music fans. I'm sure that if she hooked up with overseas producers, and targeted that audience, she'd have better luck.

Well, it didn't seem to work out. After a flop like that, you're not usually given another chance in the US industry.
She could be big in Korea. I'm not saying that with a racist intent, it just seems to be the case that if you're an American artist with roots in some smaller country - the people might get interested. That has happened in Europe during the past decade. If she needs the money, then the market could be elsewhere. Working in the mainstream music industry is still a line of work, no matter what.

Yeah, she is half-Korean, so she would do well in K-Pop and J-Pop. Her voice would be a wonderful timbre for Korean and Japanese
However, she has no excuse for ruining "Pretty Brown Eyes", way to ruin the horns in that
