I had this album on tape for the longest time, and I ONLY just found out that that was Slash playing on 'Red Light Special'.

Time really flies! I still play trax from this album. I love "Let's Do It Again", "Switch", and "Kick Your Game". I really love the remix to "Kick Your Game".

I didn't even know that was real guitar on "Red Light Special," let alone Slash. It sounds like a synth.

I remember everybody and their mama thought Prince wrote "Waterfalls" despite what the album credits said. I also remember him touching on the subject at a Paisley gig that summer and singing a few lines from it. Somebody told me that Chili came out during one of the '95 Paisley gigs that I missed and sang "Sweet Thing." Can anybody confirm this? I don't ever remember hearing it on a boot. This is back when they were romantically linked. The same person also told me it was Chili who shaved the prince into his head.

Also, I remember hearing that Prince had re-recorded "If I Was Your Girlfriend" as a duet with T-Boz and was planning on making a video for it. That could have been interesting.

I also remember reading a story that Prince was such a huge fan of Crazy Sexy Cool that he invited Dallas Austin out to Paisley Park to jam.

Prince was lookin' at him sideways because he was playing the keyboards with just 2 fingers.

This is the first CD I ever bought for my own collection, and have a lot of memories with it. I was left eye for halloween and did a waterfalls dance with a couple of girls at school. So many memories from this album.

It doesn't seem that long ago because that album had a looooong shelf life, and singles like "Diggin On You" released a full year after the CD dropped.

I remember Kick Your Game being performed at the 1996 soul train music awards, but was it actually a single? Or just on the radio?

Actually now that you mention it, I do remember hearing it on the radio too, because I think I made a point of including it on my first mixtape of 1996, but it never had a proper video.

I have been wondering if "Kick Your Game" was a single. It got a lot of airplay here in Dallas. The remix did especially. Was it only available in Europe?

A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

It was scheduled to be the fifth single, which is why the remix with Craig Mack was commissioned, but it was scrapped before release IIRC.

FWIW, I'm a fan of this album, but I never really loved "Waterfalls." I still find it a little overrated. The other singles are fantastic, though. I adore the live version of "Diggin' on You."

i'm so sorry to say...that ain't slash!

i remember the Mtv new report being that Prince wanted to re-record IIWYG with the whole group...hmmmm...all i know, it was awesome to hear him intro them as his 'favorite' group at the VMAs in 1999 (then his ass was the only one in the audience that wouldn't stand up for Madonna, LOL)
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I loved "Waterfalls" the first 100,000,000 times I heard it. Now, I can't stand it. I still love the album, but that song gets skipped every time I listen to it. I still love "Kick Your Game", "Let's Do It Again" and "Switch". I liked "Diggin' On You", but I never got why it was a single. I would have preferred "Switch".
