And what started that ish between him and En Vogue?

Here's a little something regarding him and En Vogue:

"Things got so bad on tour with En Vogue, that a curtain was put up to separate them and Luther. While on tour in Miami, Luther saw that a member of En Vogue had wandered over to "his side" of the drawn curtain. His temper hit full-tilt and he "actually" called the Miami police to demand the group be charged with trespassing."

Okay despite that big quote earlier, there's still no reason or examples give as to why he didn't get along w/ En Vogue, nor what the root of the Anita thing was about. The quotes kept saying "things better left unsaid" sort of nonsense. That's not a story, that's side stepping thing. We want the dirt!

I heard he had issues with Toni Braxton too lol

what? lol

When she was in the group The Braxtons they opened up for him in the 90's and we all know that Toni is a known bitch in the industry so it's no surprise they bumped heads but eventually they stopped being the supporting act at his shows. I love Luther but he was just so picky and a true prima donna lol

Just because he had issues with her, doesn't make her the bitch. The common denominator is Luther, not everyone else.

I heard about that too. Aretha was always known for getting the first take just right (first take Aretha) when recording a song. That all changed when she worked with Luther, he supposedly didn't like the first take. lol
[Edited 10/10/09 11:14am]

I don't think that was the first time because she also had a few arguments with Curtis Mayfield during the 'Sparkle' era.

If Aretha is argumentative and confrontational with her audiences, I can easily see her being a straight bitch in a studio. The stories about her during Divas Live are classic! She ain't no shrinking violet. lol

Yea, you don't know. Toni was very big-headed (she probably changed now) but during her success in the 90's she was a bitch.

Yes, Roberta Flack was the reason why he finally got a recording deal. I don't know if it was the '70s or before his solo debut, but he got a deal after Roberta said "you sound too good to be singing backup for me." Roberta used to say Lutha reminded her of Donny.

I don't know if labeling Toni a "bitch" is appropriate but she did have issues with quite few producers, specifically R. Kelly lol

rolleyes Ummm, no people are actually posting excerpts from books/articles in addition to the MANY Luther stories that were in fact widely "known." You said this was "known" about Toni, which is vague as all hell, you haven't described any incidents, and no one thusfar has heard such a thing. If it was that widely "known" there should be stories or articles floating around that you can point to.

lol That's not saying much.

An artist having artistic differences with a producer doesn't make them a bitch IMO. How they interact with their colleagues, employees, and the public say a lot more to me. Plus anybody can have a bad day, but if acting like a "bitch" or "diva" is their standard way of behaving that tells me a lot about their personality.

Maybe, calling her a "bitch" hurt some people's feelings, I apologize, but from what I heard from those that worked with her in the studio, she's rigid
