And in the footsteps of Janet Jackson, Ashlee learned to not rely on being a 'famous sibling' but rather pave her own path not allowing the often ill-intended need for talent encumber her pursuit for pop perfection.

Folks can argue that she doesn't write her own songs, but does MJ write all his songs? Folks can say that she doesn't play any instruments, but does Madonna? Folks can say that she can't really sing, but can Kylie?

But I get the sense that her career is over, at least when it comes to singing. It appears that the music landscape is giving up on boy/girl band acts and their ironic anti-establishment but-still-formulaic counterparts. It seems folks are looking to the established Divas of old now, with Lady GaGa being the one exception.
