New Chromeo - track preview / download http://www.greenlabelsound.com/
Thoughts? A bit divided on this one personally. Love many of the sounds utilized on it, but Dave's vocals could have been a bit different this time around in my view. But yeah, especially the guitar's an ace.

This track is the shit!!!
What we need now: 1) A 12 min extended version. 2) Vainandy to listen to it! Keep electro-funk alive, Chromeo!

LOVE IT! Someone turned me onto Chromeo a couple of years ago, and I instantly loved them. They are one of the best things to happen to music in five years, at least.
The song has a great 80's dance vibe to it. Reminds me a lot of FAME or something like that. Just fun stuff.

I don't know if anyone noticed - or you know all the 3.45 of you - how the production of the song seems to be more genuinely retro this time around? On "Fancy Footwork" there are a couple of tracks towards the end that function as proper 80s pastiches but a lot of the tracks were still quite close to Daft Punk -type of sound. That also concerns the mixing and the mastering, as in that regard "Fancy Footwork" was made to sound like a modern dance record despite all the vintage electronics they used on it.
Here, the frequency response is more restrained - much more like an 80s record, albeit there's an extra amount of bass added. I don't know what the finished product will sound like once it comes out, but I hope they would stick in this vein for the entire record. You know, before releasing this track the guys posted a short 20 sec.-or-so teaser clip on Facebook where you could see the song being played back from an old reel-to-reel -recorder. 4 that.

I was going to post a thread about this! I'm so in love with them that I fail to be able to be objective. This gets a big thumbs up for me! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I like this track! It's a mix of funky electro-dance music with a little rock guitar added in.
Anyone notice Chromeo's logo looks a lot like Cameo's old logo ?

Iam not technical at all when it comes to music, but I do like the fact the track you posted does indeed sound well mixed and produced. Like the added touches on the bridge before the chorus for example, and back to the mixing, I hate new records where the mixing is so harsh and loud. This does sound authentically 80's to me. I cant really put into words like you can (and you do it very well), but it does. I often bitch and moan about new acts doing 80's pastiches wrong because he mixing is often so horrible (to me), but this track does indeed, sound great. "Flashdance" does spring to mind sorta, though Moroder would of made the track alot more commerical then Chromeo though I imagine Thanks for the link. Great track
