Raphael Saadiq Announces More Tour Dates

October 2009

Singer/songwriter Raphael Saadiq has lined up a slate of late-year tour dates as he continues to support his latest album, last year's "The Way I See It."

The trek kicks off Nov. 16 in Seattle, hitting 20 cities in November and December before coming to a stop Dec. 16 in Minneapolis. Details are included below.

Canadian singer Anjulie and Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Janelle Monae will open on select dates. More information is available at Saadiq's website.

On the road, Saadiq continues to support his third and most recent studio album, last year's "The Way I See It." The set, heavily infused with '60s R&B and soul touches, features guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z and Joss Stone, whose "Introducing Joss Stone" Saadiq produced in 2007.

"I think I've been preparing all my life for this record," Saadiq told LiveDaily earlier this year. "You gotta go in and be really serious and know that you're attempting to do something different for Americans. It shouldn't be different. But it is. To attempt it and to pull it off, it's an acrobatic trick. I've been listening to it my whole life."

Saadiq, who began his performing career as lead vocalist of dance trio Tony! Toni! Tone!, released his debut solo album, "Instant Vintage," in 2002. He followed that set with 2004's "Ray Ray" on his own record label, Pookie Entertainment.
