I was listening to it today.

I don't know people hate this album. I actually think its a good album.

I haven't seen the movie, but just cause the movie was bad, doesn't mean the same applies for the music album.

And YES I do think her rendition of Cherrelle's song is superior than the original and I love the SOS Band tribute she did with Eric Benet on Want You

I would've enjoyed the Rick James song had it not been for all the damn giggling though.

I love this album. I just dusted this off the other day.

The only Mariah album that I just can't listen to is Charmbracelet.

Also, when she was out promoting it, she lost it and was hospitalized. So, this album had bad luck all around. That's why Virgin PAID her to leave.

All that aside tho, I remember being a lil nervous when I found out she was gonna do a cover of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - not one of the greatest covers of all time but I think she done it justice and still turned out a solid album

I thought that album was decent and I love when Mariah works with Jimmy and Terry.

It is underrated. It is also Mariah's best album. The movie is not bad, it simply was not a masterpiece - and when you get down to it Purple Rain is not a great movie, either


But Glitter And Lead the Way is my all time favourite Mariah Carey song

Yes, extremely underrated.

Craptastic movie and lousy lead single ("Loverboy") aside, Glitter was actually a pretty decent album. She captured that 80's sound really well, and she had some great ballads on it ("Lead The Way", "Reflections", "Never Too Far:, "Twister"). And her covers of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" and "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life", while not as great as the originals, were good send ups. What ultimately doomed the album was her nervous breakdown just prior to its release, which also didn't help that it was released on September 11, 2001.

I love the album. Loverboy is the worst on it, but the rest is pretty cool, even amazing. I love All My Life.

I have to post this song, I love Mariah's version too. Cherrelle's version is my personal favorite for childhood memories mostly. I like Robert Palmer's take on this song as well, I don't think anyone can mess this song up.

Thats makes for a "good enough" album to overlook the challenges the album faced. If it didnt have rappers all over some tracks it would have been her classic album in my opinion. And the remix version of Loverboy is horrid I dont know why people even liked that.

It wasn't the first single because people weren't ready for an 80s dance song at the time. I really think the first single should have been either Reflection or a mid-tempo cut. Funkin' for Jamica could have been a hit also because Mystical was HOT at the time.

Loverboy is actually easily one of my most favorite MC songs.
