It sounds still fantastic today. it's excellent. Everything should have been mixed that way. well it's completely useless for one thing and doesn't do anything that regular stereo mixing doesn't already. the reason they sound different is because there's echo and different effects on certain aspects of the songs and different things are accentuated in the new mixes. there's nothing wrong with the q-sound aspects of them at all really. it's the fact that they're remixed at all, many of them for no apparent reason other than just because.

Miles Away (Radio Edit) 19. Celebration 20. Revolver I'm debating whether or not to do at least some minor crossfading. i'm too anal to let stuff from the same album cross discs like that, unless the grouping of the songs is a shift in sound, like the ballads from an album on a disc and the beats-y stuff on the next, or something Well, I tried to squeeze "Oh Father" onto disc 1 so it would've encompassed the '80s ("Keep It Together" being a single from '90), but it wouldn't fit and I didn't want to cut anything. Thematically, the last 2 LAP singles that start disc 2 are about family. Yeah, that's a bit of a stretch, but I like "Oh Father" as an opener. Obviously, DW/SFL is a good fit there since it's already and album opener. As it were, I split the singles of her two most critically acclaimed albums (and the 2 that ended her first 2 decades). I think it gives the set a certain cohesion and makes you want to go to the next disc. otherwise looks good - except for your continued bizarro love for TIC versions and obscure remixes j/k
Well, I mainly went for the shortest lengths. I didn't use the mixes I absolutely hate ("Holiday," "Into the Groove"). The only ones I really felt I needed were "Express Yourself" and "Cherish," which are the definitive versions IMO and much better than any of the other available edits/mixes. Even you can admit the "Cherish" remix is better than the 7" Mix, right? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Even you can admit the "Cherish" remix is better than the 7" Mix, right? yes, I can admit that, definitely. i've been listening to Cherish over and over a few times this week seeing where i can make an edit from the album version to include the breakdown part of the song at the end. sounds pretty easy, without having actually worked on it yet. no idea why they made that cut. it takes the meat right out of it. oh, and I don't dislike the Immaculate versions at all. I like them quite a bit actually. I prefer Holiday and Cherish and a few others to the original single versions. but on a GH comp, for me, it's got to be the original hit versions. with TIC, they tried to make it a GH comp AND a remix collection and have it both ways and for me, it ends up not really working as either. it's a great listen and was my re-introduction to Madonna after the moms in the neighborhood made us forget about Madonna when LAV came out (even though they loved her along with us for her first album). and I don't have any problem with Express Yourself being included in its remixed video version. at all. but that TIC version is too remixed even beyond that version. the law of diminishing returns sets in for me the more Shep re-mixed that song over that 2 year period. it's like he just kept trying to perfect it and it got further and further away from what made the original and his original remix so great. I hate the Holiday TIC remix, but where can I live to the original ITG version? What's considered the original? original version (4:40) is from the 1985 single that was later tacked onto some European versions of the LAV album. it's the one you've heard on the radio that's not the TIC version (they seem to get equal airplay). actually the ORINGAL original isn't released. it's the version that appears in Desperately Seeking Susan, but I haven't heard it in a long time, so I don't really remember the differences. I think the released version in 1985 was just kind of remixed and the movie version was more demo-y.

Ooh, I totally forgot the video for "What It Feels Like for a Girl" used a remix. I don't recall liking that version much when it was released, but I haven't heard it in years. I'll have to revisit it. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I wouldn't be too surprised if it looks just a little bit different than the one leaked by Madonna tribe (ok, I'm hoping it's just a little bit different). Also, it seems strange that they could shift around the tracklist if everything is to remastered by the original collaborators. These people don't seem like they'd just be on standby to come in and remaster something else to assuage pissed off Madonna fans. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! If "Burning Up" goes, she's losing a sale! why? you have all the songs all ready and make your cds and playlists, it's not like you can't just make something you like better You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna
