Disc 1--- Everybody Holiday Lucky Star Dress You Up Material Girl Like A Virgin Into The Groove Who's That Girl Crazy For You Open Your Heart Papa Don't Preach La Isla Bonita Live To Tell Like A Prayer Express Yourself Hanky Panky Vogue Celebration Disc 2--- Erotica Deeper And Deeper Rain Take A Bow Bedtime Story You Must Love Me Ray Of Light Frozen Music Don't Tell Me American Life Die Another Day Hung Up Get Together Miles Away 4 Minutes Revolver I like this tracklist alot more than that rumored Japan tracklist.Neglected hits like "Who's That Girl" and "Dress You Up" are included, which would make many fans happy. The only song that I would remove is "Hanky Panky",a novelty hit that really doesn't need to be here.Replace it with either "Causing A Commotion" or "Justify My Love" and this set would be perfect. Also, where is "Beautiful Stranger". Easily more memorable than "Hanky Panky". But "Who's That Girl" and "Dress You Up"....very nice! And "Get Together" over "Sorry"....I don't know! "Secret" is not on there but "Bedtime Story" is? No way it's real. I wish this tracklist was real I like it for the most part.

To this day Nile Rodgers praises the album and I believe he even said it's her best album ever. When he said a lot of the songs were recorded in one take it was not meant dismissive, he is rather porud of that. Anyway, they started to work on the album in early 1984 and it took about 4 months. In July 1984 she already wanted to release it, but because of the success of Borderline they waited til it fizzled out. Into The Groove does not really belong there since it was written two years after the other M/Bray songs. The three main songs were indeed LAV, DYU and MG. They helped to shape her image. LDLHA is a characteristic choice from Nile Rodgers. It sounds like all the Chic ballads. I still have mixed feelings on the album. Side A is great. LAV, Angel, MG, Over & Over is okay, LDLHA well... It's side B that lacks of great songs. DYU is an excellent opener, but Pretender and Stay are horrible, just awful and Shoo-Bee-Doo I find not as bad as people say, still it's a filler. So, the two songs that really ruin the album are the last ones. That's exactly what I said It's those last two songs that aren't very good.Replace those with two stronger songs (I suggested "Ain't No Big Deal and "Don't You Know") and the album would be near perfect. It'd be nowhere near perfect unless "Shoo Bee Doo" was jettisoned far, far away. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! I recently pulled out "I'm Breathless" and I like the song, but it's more of a song to consider right away if "Celebration" is a three disc affair. I would put it ahead of "Miles Away" and "Get Together", but those seem more likely choices.

I think they would have improved Like a Virgin, but they aren't classics. I think both sound more fitting to the first album than LAV. Dont You Know is the coolest track - i love love love it - particularly the Prince-like synth solo. Its testament to the fact that any future box set / anthology shouldnt start from 'Madonna', but instead right from the beginning of her recording in 1980. Aint no Big Deal should have been on the record, but i guess they were going for a clean 8 track album - also wasn't it part of the deal Steve Bray and madonna struck. He got sole writing credit for that, and she kept her credits for the songs on the first album. I assume that the reason Gambler and Crazy For You weren't included on Like A Virgin was a record label thing (they were Geffen weren't they?) - as they were recorded by the time LAV went to pressing. Id love to hear how Nile Rogers would have made Gambler sound - more punch id expect.

But speaking of old songs, Crimes Of Passion is another great gem, isn't it? Anyway, as someone said, the BEST possible replacement/additions would have been Into The Groove and CFY. Well, imagine those two on the album. Would have been an quasi-best of, like MJ's Thriller and Wham's Make It Big Material Girl Angel Like A Virgin Over & Over Love... Dress You Up Shoo-Bee-Doo Crazy For You Into The Groove! okay, so it would have had three slow songs, but maybe she could have used Crimes of Passion after all or someone else's songs, haha, but that's too much plastic surgery.

Even if it were, the song sort of just came out without any hype (at least in non Madonna world). I'm sure most people don't even know Madonna has a new single, let alone a greatest hits collection, coming out. I know it';s over a month away, but I'm still a bit concerned about an offical tracklist not coming out. Could this low placing even delay this news as well as the release?

Top stars rumoured for 'X Factor' appearances
Simon Cowell is celebrating after reportedly recruiting a host of stars including Madonna, Rihanna and Whitney Houston to appear on his U.K. TV talent show The X Factor. Ratings for the competition soared last year after pop star Beyonce agreed to make an appearance on the show. Now Cowell is hoping to draw even more viewers after inking deals with Madonna, Houston, Robbie Williams and Rihanna, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper. The publication alleges news of the superstar deals leaked after The X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman boasted about the talent due to perform on the show. A source tells the tabloid, 'Brian is really excited about this year's show because there are some great artists involved. He is proud to be part of it and admires Simon's ability to attract A-listers.' From contactmusic.com LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

I Know It is supercorny, though, with its Legend Of Zelda melody and instrumentation. really kind of weird to be seeing so many people thinking that Ain't No Big Deal is so great. i mean, yeah, in a bonus, novelty rare b-side barely known kind of way. but if it was on any album, it would be the one we'd all be saying needs to be replaced by something else, anything else.

I'm telling you, it's a billion times better than that terrible b-side version. of course i've heard it. i'm one of those people that ordered it from stephen bray before it was even available in stores and yeah, it is better in a neat curio sort of way but that pinching her nose to create an effect on her voice stuff was not going to fly. the song just isn't that impressive melodicaly or lyrically or vocally, in any version i've heard. if this song was on her first album instead of Holiday (which replaced it) and years later, Holiday just showed up out of the blue as a b-side, and you knew that it could have been on her debut instead of Ain't No Big Deal, what would you say? you'd say "oh my god, I can't believe they left this off her debut album and put that piece of shit on there instead" because that's what everyone would think of "Ain't No Big Deal" if it was on an album. a piece of shit that should have been replaced at all costs. sorry, i like the song alright, but let's not get carried away. it's not better than anything on her debut or even LAV, as much as i dislike a few tracks from that album in particular.
