I think the title track is enough from that album. Possibly Deeper And Deeper will make the cut too but I think it is a rather poor song especially when compared with its cousins: Express Yourself, Vogue and Rescue Me

eek Deeper and deeper is a handsdown forgotten classic as far as im concerned. Its got my favourite outro to any madonna song (bar the insane fly swatting synth at the end of music).....Madonna, Donna & Nicky belting out "deeper & deeper & Deeper, Sweet & Sweeter & Sweeter". Great stuff.

I love Deeper & Deeper. Davy, you're right, it's a cousin to Vogue and Rescue Me, damn they even included some lines from Vogue for fun.

I like what they did with the middle in the GST, that house-y "deep-deep-deep-depp..." part.

yeah, sorry, that's not gonna happen lol

i'll not comment on the quality of the song, but it's owned by Geffen and WB aren't going to bother licensing that when Crazy For You is mandatory.

Was Gambler a hit? A single?

I haven't bought a Madonna single since "Nothing Fails" woot!

I just got tired of all the remixes sounding the same and uninspired and with so few vocals or anything at all of interest. sad

I've got the Confessions ones, although the only one that's really worth it is "Jump" for the sake of the B-side.

To be honest, there really is no point of Madonna having another greatest hit compilation, except for her songs afer 2000.

Immaculate Collection and Something to Remember were really well made hit collections.

Immaculate Collection- really about the songs which made Madonna into a big superstar.

Something to Remember- the ballads which won her a lot of praise in her career.

Then there was the GHV2 which took into account some of her underrated songs.

I think the main point is to rectify the songs overlooked in those past packages, as well as serve up remastered versions of the "superstar" hits.

Okay...so between the press release, the lyric sheet on Madonna.com,and the official teaser ad,it looks like these tracks are pretty much confirmed:

Who's That Girl

This might just make up for everything. How is it confirmed?

Yet it looks like they are likely to once again overlook some Madonna classics.

I personally thought the strongest tracklisting was the one on the "leaked" / faked CD back cover:

1. Holiday (Single version)
2. Like A Virgin (Edit)
3. Material Girl (Edit)
4. Into The Groove (Single Version)
5. Papa Dont Preach (Edit)
6. Who's That Girl (Single Version)
7. Like A Prayer (12" edit)
8. Express Yourself (Album Version)
9. Vogue (Immaculate Col Version)
10. Erotica (Edit)
11. Secret (Album Version)
12. Frozen (Edit)
13. Ray Of Light (Edit)
14. Music (Album Version)
15. Die Another Day (Album Version)
16. Hung Up (Radio edit)
17. 4 Minutes (Album Version)
18. Celebration

1. Everybody (Orinal 12" Single Edit)
2. Borderline (Edit)
3. Crazy For You (Single Version)
4. Dress You up (Album Version)
5. Live To Tell (Edit)
6. La Isla Bonita (Edit)
7. Cherish (Edit)
8. Justify My Love (Album Version)
9. This Used To be My Playground (Single Version)
10. Deeper & Deeper (Album Version)
11. Take A Bow (Edit)
12. Human Nature (Edit)
13. Don't Tell Me (Edit)
14. American Life (Edit w/o rap)
15. Sorry (Edit)
16. Give It 2 Me (Album Version)
17. Revolver

I think this is a logical tracklisting. CD1 features all her 1st release singles (Live To tell excluded), plus absolute classics like Material Girl & Express Yourself. CD2 features most of her ballads, and secondary single releases. This maintains a sense of chronology to it, and makes CD1 the sort of ultimate greatest hits disc, and CD2 more interesting and varied.

Id say the only songs you could add to it are "lucky Star" "Open Your Heart" "Rain" "You'll See" "Drowned World".
Of the ones included Id say Everybody and Human Nature should make way for Open Your Heart & Drowned World. That said Everybody was her first single.....its damn difficult.

My God- that's near perfect...let's add those tracks you mentioned:

1. Holiday
2. Like A Virgin
3. Material Girl
4. Into The Groove
5. Papa Don't Preach
6. Open Your Heart
7. Who's That Girl
8. Like A Prayer
9. Express Yourself
10. Vogue
11. Erotica
12. Rain
13. Secret
14. Frozen
15. Ray Of Light
16. Music
17. Die Another Day
18. Hung Up
19. 4 Minutes
20. Celebration

1. Everybody
2. Lucky Star
3. Borderline
4. Crazy For You
5. Dress You up
6. Live To Tell
7. La Isla Bonita
8. Cherish
9. Justify My Love
10. This Used To be My Playground
11. Deeper And Deeper
12. Take A Bow
13. Human Nature
14. You'll See
15. Drowned World/Substitute For Love
16. Don't Tell Me
17. American Life
18. Sorry
19. Give It 2 Me
20. Revolver

Quick, send it to Warners NOW!!! wink
