Didnt they already say that Usher and Justin Timberlake and Neyo and Chris Brown were the "new" Michael Jackson? lol

THERE IS NO HEIR after Michael. Prince is the next biggest artist of our times. And artist who never stopped doing himself and never cared what anyone thought...so as is Madonna and Tina Turner..these are the people who will have legendary longevity in the game..there is no other...followed respectfully by Aretha Patti, Chaka, Cher, Barbra, Mariah and all them

Nobody is the heir to Mike. Not even close. Especially Beyonce...not even on the same damn level. You don't see grown men going out buying Beyonce albums lol. She's just eye candy.

I think I understand what the author means. shrug

No, Beyonce will never surpass or even come close to the national/international status of Michael Jackson. That just will not happen ever again. There will never be another Michael Jackson. However, I think she is the only one out now who has the complete entertainment abilities to be the next most popular star on the planet. Again, not anywhere near MJ's level, but the highest possible now. That notion is plausible. To me, she's like Whitney Houston, but can dance, so B's videos and stage shows are more entertaining and appealing. Plus, Beyonce already has the public history, attention, charm with an audience, a nice personality, and of course talent (excellent vocals, really good dancer). She just needs to drastically update her image (hair, clothing), drop the old and boring shaking choreography and learn some new moves, get new management, divorce Jay-Z, and find some better songwriters.

I was just reading some amazon reviews, this one caught me off guard.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best female musicians ever!, July 14, 2009
By Kelsey "Music and Entertainment Critic" - See all my reviews
Ignore generic female crap like Blondie, Heart (Fart), Patti Smith, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, The Pretenders, PJ Harvey and Billie Holiday and listen to Beyonce's new album instead! It's great because it has awesome dance anthems, phat beatz, emotional ballads and "Single Ladies" has gotten a lot of BET airplay so you know it has to be good or else why would it be so popular? So throw out your crappy, dated 1961 Aretha Franlin albums and listen to the music saviour.. that is Beyonce.

1 - It's technically impossible to sell 45 million cd in this day and age of bootleging, Limewire and burning.
2 - Beyonce's music while entertaining is not timeless. Most of these heir apparent dudes(Neyo, Chris Brown, even Usher) fall into that same category.
3 - J.Timberlake doesn't even have a distinctive sound of his own yet and probably never will. The first album was MJ, second one was Prince.
4 - MJ did what he did due to a mix of talent and the times we lived in. That cannot be recreated unless the internet dies overnight.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I agree but I'm gonna give my two cents on it:
1.) Not only burning, bootlegging and Limewire but THRILLER was that rare album that was an event as well as an album. Even top-selling albums before and after Thriller didn't do like Thriller did sales wise so it was a rare moment in time.
2.) I find myself bored whenever I hear Beyonce sing. Her dancing's horrid too.
3.) Justin Timberlake is a swagger jacker and a blood sucker of every aging female pop star (ask Kylie, Janet and Madonna) but gets intimidated when a legendary male artist gets on the stage with him (MJ, Al Green).
4.) Michael came from THE OLD SCHOOL. cool

There will never be another Michael Jackson. There will never be another James Brown. There will never be another Prince. There will never be another Stevie Wonder. On and on.....just no.

Beyonce just needs to be the best Beyonce she can be so one day someone will ask "Is so&so the heir to Beyonce?" Beyonce needs to blaze her own trail so she can become a legend in her own right. So far I am not seeing it. She's good by today's sad standards but there is simply nothing unique about the girl. And the main problem I see is her catalog of work is weak. One good song on each CD does not a legend make. Then to add insult to injury, she overexposes herself with each outing. So, it's like she's wasting her capital and hotness on crap music.

I think she tries too hard to be honest with you. Not on the dancing but the singing, lol. She can sing but she has a tendency to be too dramatic ("At Last" is a perfect example as is "Ave Maria" a song Mathew tried to make it seem like Beyonce co-wrote it, lol).
