I can't really cut BET slack. OK, the tributes seem cool but it would've been better to do a tribute show the following week rather than change everything around. That's why to me it seemed as if even if they were honoring him they were sorta pissing on him too. Just in my mind.

I even liked the Ojays tribute with J.gill and Tyrese minus trey songz. He could've just got the fuck out the way and let Tyrese and Johnny handle that.

Why would they worry about putting on a half ass show? They already had half ass artists booked for the show so whether it was rushed or not, it was still going to turn out half assed.

Can somebody please tell me why I laughed when Papa Levert from the O'Jays slipped and cursed when he was talking about Michael and knowing him since he was a little boy? It was like watching the big drunk uncle at the family reunion. I was like Lawd, somebody please take Uncle Levert glass out his hand when he get backstage ...but for some reason I still laughed

Ths was one of the best shows they've put on. Would have been excellent if Soulja Boy and the Cash Money set had been axed. I thought Jamie did great, starting with a lot of levity and ending in solemn respect.

Beyonce's performance was haunting, and not in a good way.

I see some folks want to cut BET some slack, and I respect everyone's opinion but I really can't give them any credit for this. I know these productions take lots of money, planning and organization but class and dignity cost nothing. No matter what logistic challenges they may have had, that is no excuse for getting on television and acting wild and disrespectful, as many of the folks I saw were behaving. The host was an absolute disgrace.

I think this was their best show in years, but that's just my opinion. Of course, in saying that, I also don't think they had much of a choice but to be good because they are the first music awards show to air after Michael's passing. I know that the VMAs, the AMAs, and the Grammys are going to be throwing down when their award shows air. They rushed and put together a decent tribute to Mike IMHO. It would have been better without some elements though.

Jamie wasn't that bad of a host and I enjoyed his performances, but really hated him plugging his tour...kinda disrespectful, but money is money they say. It was really funny when he almost got trampled after he braved being up in the nosebleed seats with the fans. They knocked over the camera man and Jamie was like, "The cameraman fell down...the cameraman fell down!!" I loved when they had that spoof trailer with him as Wanda and Martin Lawrence as Sheenana...hilarious.

As for the performances, many of them were good, few were great, and most were god awful.

My critique:

**I was disgusted by the Lil' Wayne/Cash Money performance because it was totally out of place and chauvinistic to the bone. Gross, gross, gross, and his daughter was on stage during that mess and who the fuck is this Drake guy? Dude must have been hurt because his ass didn't leave that seat.

**T-Pain and his big ass chain. Yeah, Jay-Z sure put his ass on blast now didn't he? It was funny at the afterparty when they premiered the 'Death to Autotune' video and Jamie said, "Jay-Z needs to give me a pass. 'Blame it' is getting a brotha paid, so he needs to give me a pass. I will admit that I went a little overboard with the autotune on the album though." Loved when they brought Travis Barker out and he killed it on drums...awesome.

**Keri Hilson didn't do anything for me, which is sad because I actually like her.

**BBD is like someone above posted...BBD.

**Aaron Hall did sound like death re-heated. Just say 'no' to drugs, kids.

**Still don't know what the fuck Beyonce was trying to do, but she sang beautifully even though Sarah Maclaughlan didn't write 'Ave Maria' so especially didn't get the combining of the songs. THAT OUTFIT?!?!? She looked like a cracked-out fairy bride jacking the green strob lights from the 'Rock With You' video...I guess that was her tribute to Michael.

Best part of Beyonce's presence at that show was when Jamie led her off stage with her still clutching her award and the 'deer-caught-in-the-headlights' look she had on her face, so he could introduce Jay-Z. Jamie basically let her know that she would never be bigger than her husband in just one easy step. Thanks Mr. Foxx for knocking her off her pedestal and shutting her up...her speaking voice makes me want to put pencils through my eardrums.

**Thouroughly enjoyed Jay-Z's performance, but really wonder how he was able to see with dark ass shades on and only a single strobe lit lighting that dark ass stage. I guess that's the power of Hova. Jigga.

**Maxwell. Yep, that about sums him up for me. Amazing performance from an amazing artist. Can't wait for his album to drop.

**I really liked Keshia Cole and Monica's performance. They killed it. Monica was wearing a shit load of make-up though. They gonna have to get paint thinner just to take off that top coat.

**Who the hell was that girl who butchered Michael's song? Someone needs to let her know that she sucked before she destroys someone else's music with her weak ass vocals.

**What the hell happened to Tiny's face? She didn't look like that in Xscape.

**Shocked that neither Diddy or Kanye said a damn word...shocked; but happy as a dung beetle in a cow manure factory. If they would have stopped putting them on camera every so often, I would have been even happier.

**Ne-yo did a very good job for the whole show....he sure wore alot of red though; not a fan of red. But, he was consistent and delivered nicely as a whole.

**Soulja Boy Tell'em... Guess that sums that one up in a nutshell.

**Mary Mary with Queen Latifah was nice. Why does gospel music seem to sound less and less gospel-like every year? If they hadn't thrown a few 'Lords', 'Gods', 'Jesus' up in there, I would have thought it was straight-up R&B.

**Loved hearing Wyclef and Alicia's charity efforts and surprised to hear that Michael was in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the most charitable celebrity in history. Unfortunately, that probably won't stop the mean-spirited haters from continuing to trash this man. Sad.

**The O'Jays tribute was one of my favorite parts of the show from beginning to end. When Don Cornelius walked out I was like, 'Don, why you gettin' arrested at your age? You should have been acting out during the Soul Train days.' He is still cool as hell to me and he was rockin' that suit...it was soo damn fly that I was hypnotized by it. Don don't sound the same though; and, boy, can that man talk, but I still love me some Don.

Seriously, the moment Don said Tevin Campbell, I didn't care if everybody else sucked. When Tevin started singing, I swear that I almost wet myself with excitement. I was soo happy that I started whispering to the TV, 'Tevin, are you coming back to us with a new album? Please, come back to us. It's okay, everybody makes mistakes. I forgive you.' Yeah, my ass still loves me some Tevin.

The 'young O'Jays', as they were introduced by Don, were really good; but, I know that if they were actually a group, they would either disband or kill each other after less than a week. When that dude, Trey Songz I guess is his name, went over his little solo moment, Johnny gave him the dirtiest look and then he gave this really fucked up, creepy crazy, stank eye look to the camera. While he was doing it, Tyrese was right behind him laughing his ass off. Seriously, I laughed at that for like 5 minutes. Tyrese did the damn thing and if they had left off that ridiculous (but funny) impromptu 'Baby Boy' session, I would have loved his presence 100%...was Ving Rhames being serious, because he was scary as shit for a moment there. Loved Johnny's Michael moment. I could totally see Mike tapping him on the shoulder while Johnny was wearing that red and black suit and saying that in his soft voice. Great story.

I liked how they worked their way from the back of the stage down to the floor and ended up standing right in front of the O'Jays...smooth, very smooth. The O'Jays are the O'Jays and you don't be around for 50 years if you suck; nuff said. Loved Eddie's slip-up and their memories of Michael were cute and heartwarming. Outstanding performance!

**All the Michael stories and tributes (except for that sucky chick) were very moving for me and when Janet came out, I almost lost it. I feel for her soo much right now, because I know she's hurting. She adored Michael and he adored her...you can see it in soo many photos of them together. When she first walked out, I totally thought she was Diana Ross and was like, "What the hell is Diana Ross doing up there?" and then I was like, "Oh my god, it's Janet.' Absolutely heartbreaking.

**Joe Jackson looked like he was there to make sure nobody talked shit about Mike. We all know that Joe don't play. He'd totally whip someone's ass if they pissed him off.

Well, that's my take on the whole sha-bang. Can't wait to see what the other awards shows are going to do with more time to plan.
