She was not that bad. It was someone who was paying tribute to someone....It wasn't as if she was auditioning for Clive Davis....lighten up people....

Oh Lord, she'd have to sound really dull to please that old troll. lol

And that's why I criticized the show when I did, they could've waited. Like I said yesterday, it's a nice gesture but I'm not surprised it produced the results it did. It was insulting to me, you're doing your little cursing rap song and then throw Michael's name in there. I kept looking down at the floor when Drake and 'em performed saying to myself "Michael didn't die for this."
[Edited 6/29/09 21:41pm]

But let's be fair, BET couldn't control what them dumbasses would say during their acceptance speeches or in their performances. These nuts are ignorant regardless of MJ's passing and would have been fools either way.

Beyonce's voice was wonderful and soothing and pretty. Her weave or wig or wigweave whatever was kind of busted and needed combing or brushing. Her tinkerbell outfit was so weird. Man I wish her momma would stop designing her clothes. She is married now, it's time to wear grown women's clothing and not doll clothes..

sad Has never gotten more than 3.7. That means all those people saw that travesty.

That's what I said. They knew they were being watched more than ever (not everyone, just the coons like T-Pain and Lil' Wayne and all those acts on the red carpet) and still put up the same ish like they was at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.

There needs to be a dress code like when Will and Jada hosted in 06 and Damon Wayans in 07.

Even with that though, BET still had them on so hey, a spade's a spade. I mean I get what you're saying about it but it just didn't seem right anyways. sad

But they woulda acted the same way if it was the Grammys or MTV Awards, so why should we expect any better just cuz this is the BET Awards? It is what it is and this is how these rappers carry themselves regardless of the occassion. shrug

When you have to tell grown people to watch there conduct, thee is no help.

T-Pain walking up to receive an award with his "BIG ASS CHAIN" and sipin' on the lyrics to "Blame It" was just ... bad.

I'm not expecting them to act totally "proper" but when you're doing something like this for occasion, is it necessarily to act like a fool? Maybe it's not BET's fault but then again they didn't have to do it, they had a choice and not lots will agree with it. I know they won't care either way, they get ratings. shrug

I read Chris Brown, Usher, Timberlake, The Dream, were all set to perform for Mike but Jay-Z didn't let that happen?

From what I saw - worst award show ever. Janet's moment was moving, though.

[Edited 6/29/09 21:40pm]

I agree, she made me tear up. She was beautiful but clearly in pain. I think she didn't want to be there but felt obligated. or maybe Joe beat her I dunno. I never liked him. A shady old coot if ever there was one. He doesn't even seem to be grieving for his dead son. And he is ugly too.

p.s.
Janet looked big. Is she pregnant or just eating too much again?

It was the big coat. There are pics of her earlier in the month, thin. But even so, she did not look big. That is not big at all

DEAD. This rumor was started by one of Chris Brown's dancers on twitter. Apparently Chris wanted to perform badly, but the BET execs had second thoughts. Chris' fans have come up with all sorts of people to blame, from Al Sharpton lol to Cover Girl (they helped sponsor the show and Rihanna is a spokesperson) to Jay Z. I read the real story is the execs ultimately thought it might be too soon given he just plead guilty to assaulting a popular singer that same week. I concur...

Usher said he simply could not make it back from Paris in time. Don't know about Timberlake, but maybe they didn't want him because of the whole fiasco with Janet years back....who knows. The Dream? Who cares about a performance from him, especially regarding MJ?
