MADONNA: Greatest Hits, New Tracks, & Summer Tour continued - Round 2

[Thread originally started by StarCat

Calling all Madonna fans! The Queen of Pop is coming out with a long-awaited greatest hits collection this fall.
'We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September,' the singer's longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. 'We're all very excited about it.'

With so many hit songs to choose from over her long career, the singer's manager, Guy Oseary, asked fans on Twitter Tuesday which tunes they think should be included. 'Working on Madonna's greatest hits album,' he wrote. 'Any tracks that you think MUST be on?'
Still, the new album won't only feature songs her fans know and love. 'Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album,' says Rosenberg.
The greatest hits album will be Madonna's last with Warner Records, with whom she sold more than 200 million albums. In October 2007, she ended her 27-year relationship with the label when she signed a reported $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

Michael Jackson wants Madonna to cancel her shows
May 21,2009
L.A. Examiner

Michael Jackson is allegedly very angry with Madonna, blaming her July 4 and July 5 shows at the O2 Arena in London for the reason behind the cancellation of his shows. The self-titled King Of Pop was supposed to start his tour at the O2 Arena on July 8,but several shows have been cancelled.

"There is just too much to set up in two days," an insider, working with Michael Jackson, tells me."It would make sense for Madonna to cancel her shows. She has nothing on Michael Jackson. He is doing 50 shows and she's only doing two!" the insider angrily tells me.He also says that Michael Jackson believes Madonna is too old to perform and is only doing it for the money, not her enjoyment of actual performing.

It appears that someone forgot to tell Michael Jackson's camp that Madonna is actually continuing her Sticky and Sweet Tour, not starting it.She already played Wembley Stadium in London last year in front of 75,000 people despite crazy prices.Madonna posted several other stadium sellouts with audiences between 40,000-70,000 a night in Europe,South America and North America. She attracted nearly 50,000 people to her show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with astronomical ticket prices during an awful economy.Make fun of her ridiculous outfits all you want, but Madonna still is a major concert attraction. Her Sticky and Sweet Tour is the most successful tour ever by a solo artist.

Michael Jackson's need to always make himself number one has become disgusting if not completely laughable. The rumored performance where he puts himself ahead of the Beatles and Elvis is bad enough. This is the same guy who demanded to be called the "King Of Pop" in the early 90s.It appears that Michael Jackson's self-destruction continues.

This has got bullshit journalism written all over it. Madonna's shows have been booked for ages - why would MJs people be complaining about it now?

The DVD will be released in November and yes,it will include a live CD too.I don't think the CD will include every song from the concert, though.

If the new Cd is just called hits, something tells me just is only including her biggest. From the albums not covered yet, I would count on maybe only "Hung Up", "Four Minutes", and maybe "Sorry".

though it would be funny to see MJ screaming that Madonna was too old when he is only 2 weeks younger than her.

While Guy Oseary referred to it as DVD/CD, Madonna in the ICON letter simply said DVD. Since it won't be a Warner release, I doubt they are gonna make a half-baked live CD, instead they will hopefully focus on more bonus features for the DVD.
