Calling all Madonna fans! The Queen of Pop is coming out with a long-awaited greatest hits collection this fall.
'We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September,' the singer's longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. 'We're all very excited about it.'



With so many hit songs to choose from over her long career, the singer's manager, Guy Oseary, asked fans on Twitter Tuesday which tunes they think should be included. 'Working on Madonna's greatest hits album,' he wrote. 'Any tracks that you think MUST be on?'
Still, the new album won't only feature songs her fans know and love. 'Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album,' says Rosenberg.
The greatest hits album will be Madonna's last with Warner Records, with whom she sold more than 200 million albums. In October 2007, she ended her 27-year relationship with the label when she signed a reported $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

a few new songs,huh? That's what I'm mostly looking forward to,since I already have all of her singles.

Fans,post the tracklist that you would like to see.What singles absolutely must be included?

i find a lot of hits collections to be a disappointment. i'm sure this is another album intended for the general public fans. it bothers me when certain songs that were clearly hits aren't included on a compilation. but with Madonna it would definitely have to be a box set if this is a career spanning hits colection. or at LEAST a 2 disc set. oh well. i know i'll be getting it regardless. let the countdown begin.

I included all the hits. GH collections are no artform, they're commercial and since Get Together was not a hit chartswise I excluded it, even though it's one of my faves of her!!!

Honestly, I only care for the new songs.

I agree.I prefer a 2-CD compilation of the songs the way they originally sounded when released as singles.That was one of my main problems with 'The Immaculate Collection'....many of the songs were altered.Remixes are cool,but save those for a separate compilation of remixes.






Me too For weeks now,I had been saying that she needs to release a new song to tide fans over until the next CD,which is due in 2010.With this set,we're gonna get at least two new tracks.If the compilation is really due in September,she could have a summer single.I wonder who she will work with on the new songs? Pharrell? Stuart Price?

But that article says that "she has plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album",so that means no outtakes.Brand new songs.

Considering their isn't a website set up (and the fact that Madonna thinks she knows these things best), I doubt that fan suggestions will go very far. That being said, fingers crossed for "Who's That Girl" to be featured. Could be a three disc overall affair (with original mixes....none of that remix shit).

It would have to be 3 discs. Maybe not in order. Maybe by theme/sound. Dance and ballads is the most obvious. Maybe dance, ballads and movies (she's had a lot of hits from movies...while the oscar winning songs aren't hits, why not put them on there).

@ SoulAlive: I don't think it's final prove that "recording" means recording a new song. She could re-sing a song or whatever.

The only way this is going to be good is to have a singles collection with all the singles included. At the very least. It would be nice to have b-sides or remixes included, but simply having the singles in their single released form is a MUST. Anything like the last GH packages fans are going to be screaming.

Some fans are speculating that the "Sticky and Sweet" concert DVD may be included in this set (or maybe in a deluxe version of this set).I certainly wouldn't complain

I'd doubt that. She'd most likely put that on it's own. I could see a DVD of her videos being included. I still think that a 2 CD spanning her career would do a disservice to the fans and her catalog.
