I wonder if the "it's all crap" posters have even listened to any songs by the artists outside the show. Kelly and Carrie are true artists, write their own songs and go out of the box for the genres. Who now can claim to be a power country singer other than Carrie Underwood? Even Reba was quoted as saying she had to "rock" it up abit after playing with Carrie. She's a real deal. When Kelly won, the show was still honest.
But look at the list of winners. Only Carrie and David Cook look remotely like pop stars in our supposedly looks-obsessed country. A guyliner-wearing, obviously not straight guy ALMOST took it all. Jordin is no skinny-mini. Rueben was well fed, Clay needed to be fed. The show just needs to quit pimpin' certain contestants and ban anyone who even sniffed a record studio. THEN it will seem more honest. | |

Out of all the past winners, the only one I've listened to is Fantasia, and that was only her first album. Didn't care for the second one at all. To me, she's a Soul singer and Arista tried to surpress that, like the did with Jennifer.

Cowell must pull in over a half-billion between Idol (US and UK) and the Got Talent shows (Britain and America).
