NaughtyKitty said: Jacko May Announce Shows Thursday
Roger Friedman Well, I told you about this in December 2007 for the first time. Now it may be happening for real. My sources tell me that Michael Jackson is about to leave for London. If he actually goes through with the agreed plan, Jackson will announce on Thursday a run of concerts for this July. The shows will likely be the very same deal I told you about first — 20 to 30 shows at the O2 Arena in London. AEG Live offered him $1 million per show, with a guarantee of $10 million for at least 10 shows. There are problems, though. Sources close to Jackson are worried that he's really not capable of doing the shows. "He's been working out, but you never know." And then there's the question of insurance. Jackson is famous for not showing up when he doesn't feel like it. The content of the shows, according to the original deal, would be his "Thriller" album from beginning to end, with a few extra hits thrown in from other parts of his career. Why is Jackson finally agreeing to this? Money, money, money. He owes Prince Abdulla of Bahrain $7 million. Jackson also took millions in yet another refinancing late last year with Thomas Barrack's Colony Capital of Los Angeles when they became partners in his Neverland Ranch. Since then the former King of Pop has been renting a $100,000 a month home in Beverly Hills that he can't afford. Stay tuned.... http://www.foxnews.com/st...,00.html#1 What a loser... he's like a flag in the wind... last week he was swearing up and and down that it's not going to happen! Saturday, February 21, 2009 Jacko: No London Shows, Thanks Michael Jackson is not getting ready for any London shows this summer. The Times of London Saturday is recycling stories from this column from last year indicating that Jackson will play a series of dates at AEG Live’s O2 Arena. I first told you about these offers more than a year ago. Readers of this column have followed the saga. Jackson had an offer for $10 million guaranteed against $30 million. But the economy was very different then, and so was Jackson. AEG would still like Jackson to perform but the terms of the offer would be different now. Ah, the British press. They’re so much fun! http://www.foxnews.com/st...,00.html#2 That guy is so totally up his own ass and totally ended up with egg on his face.... It's kinda ironic, that that fat pig was was one of the first people last year to talk about the O2 shows... and then, one week after he is the only one to "deny" it, it's finally getting confirmed! LOL @ seeingvoices... we had the same thought! [Edited 3/3/09 12:22pm]

OMG
I'm going to put together a CD of the songs I want him to play and listen to it and imagine I'm there. So Cool I was psyched for Lotus Flower, but this news towers above that.

I'll believe it when i see it, how many nights will he have off ill?. It ALWAYS happens, and i've seen the decline in each and every tour, it's not enough for me just to see him in the flesh, that's not exciting to me.
He better change his act and drop the lip-synching, hate to say it, but i'd rather remember him as he was at his peak. He can never be was good as he was. I might well pass on this. And where the hell is that BAD tour DVD anyway?

Sony BMG has confirmed the release of the Off The Wall 30th Anniversary Edition. The new album has a tentative release date of August 2009 but, that date is subject to change.
As with the hugely successful 'Thriller 25' release last year, there are plans to include brand new remixes of some of the original tracks, as well as previously unreleased material on the new 'OTW 30.' Also, In preparation for the release, michaeljackson.com has recently been updated with an 'Off The Wall' feel. Originally released on August 10th, 1979 in the USA (September 29th, 1979 in the UK), 'Off The Wall' was Michael's first solo album with Epic Records after leaving Motown in 1977. It was also the biggest selling album of all time by a Black artist, until that record was smashed just three years later by Michael's next album 'Thriller.' To date, it is estimated that 'OTW' has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. Source: SonyBMG / MJFC "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I'd rather he do an Elvis-style comeback special on worldwide TV first, something intimate, he could demand crazy money and it'd get paid, not trying to overstretch himself with this mammoth commitment. If he has got a false tip on his nose, i'd rather he didn't fall flat on his face. Though having said all that, he might sell a show at the O2 to TV anyway.

They'll be disgruntled and his legacy as a great live performer will take a battering. People (media, casual concert-goers and fans) will be watching this very closely. I think you HAVE to perform live at the O2, even the Spice Girls did, i don't think anyone has lip-synched there (yet!) I hope he doesn't, and a live band would be just great.

Girls Aloud have done the O2 and they barely ever sing live for more that 25% of their shows.

It's amazing how things can turn within minutes. Yesterday we thought he would never do anything and now...
But we gotta calm down. I'm sure there will be much complaining going on. We should not expect a Victory kind of MJ. Think of HIStory MJ buit twelve years older... Not an exciting thought, er? All I do is hope that the setlist will have some amazing surprises. Of course he does the demanded hits, but I don't need the Jackson5 Medley again. Not because I dislike the J5, but he did it every tour. Also we complain about an artists should grow up yet many want him to sing ABC?? Anyway, a new set list would make me most happy.

God knows how much of his confidence was stripped after the trial You remember when he kinda realized people still liked him at the Japan VMAs? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them.
