All snide remarks aside, Michael does not look healthy enough 4 this...I sincerely hope it all goes well 4 him but I would say the potential 4 it not 2 is 2 high in my opinion.

I really hope that this is Micheal's personal choice and not the money grabbers forcing him in2 it.

Anxiety you are making a big deal of this. FIRST this is just an online thread its not even real life.

Second, its unreasonable to put all michael jackson stuff in one thread. Its actually more confusing because how are people to know if recent news is being posted, and its confusing because the thread will be all over the place with different topics.

You are acting like its a crime to post new separate threads about michael jackson. If you don't like the michael jackson threads Don't click on them don't read them its that simple. But to take away the freedom to post separate individual topics is just WRONG.

If you are going to single out michael, should you Not do it for EVERY artist.

Michael Jackson will confirm a string of live dates at London's O2 Arena during a "special announcement" later this week. Details of how many nights the 50-year-old singer will play, along with ticket sale information, will be revealed at 4pm on Thursday 5 March for what will be one of the most hotly-anticipated live events of 2009. eek eek eek eek eek eek
The news follows recent speculation that the singer would join his brothers for a Jackson Five reunion tour, after Jermaine Jackson told reporters "the whole family" would be reforming. Michael Jackson swiftly released a statement that not be participating, saying: "My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them."

The singer has not performed a full concert since he was tried and cleared of child abuse charges in 2005. His last studio album was 2001's Invincible, and no details as to whether the singer is working on new material to accompany his return to the stage have been confirmed.

The move follows the success of Prince's month-long summer residency at the 02 Arena in 2007. The 02, which has also played host to performances from Kylie Minogue and Led Zeppelin, was revealed to be the biggest selling arena in the world in a survey earlier this year.

HMICHAEL JACKSON - JACKSON COMEBACK TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED ON THURSDAY
Here's some more info.... what a summer .... biggrin biggrin biggrin

MICHAEL JACKSON will unveil plans for his 30-date residency at London's O2 Arena on Thursday (05Mar09), according to U.K. reports.
The press conference will end fevered speculation that the King of Pop plans to make an explosive comeback by staging a series of concerts in the British capital, according to Sky News.
A source tells WENN Jackson was due to land at a London airport at 2pm (GMT) on Tuesday (03Mar09) and will appear in person at the press conference to make the announcement.
The Thriller hitmaker's last major tour was in 1996, and his most recent album, Invincible, was released eight years ago in 2001.
Reports have suggested the residency could pull in $214.5 million (£150 million) - netting the star a mammoth $7.15 million (£5 million) pay cheque per show.
It is believed revenue from the residency will help Jackson's waning fortune - he was forced to sell his beloved Neverland Ranch to a private equity firm last year (08) after falling behind on the $3 million (£2.1 million)-per-year running costs.
The string of shows will trump fellow pop superstar Prince's stint at the venue in 2007, which saw the Purple Rain legend sell-out the O2 for 21 dates... eek eek eek eek eek

Reports: Michael Jackson seeks comeback in London

LONDON – British media are reporting that Michael Jackson will play his first live concerts for years in London this summer.

Sky News and others say the troubled King of Pop will perform a string of dates at the city's 02 Arena.

Jackson spokeswoman Celena Aponte said Tuesday the reports were speculation. But she said a special announcement about Jackson would be made Thursday at the venue.

Jackson's last live performance in Britain was at the 2006 World Music Awards. He was to perform "We Are the World" but only managed a few lines before leaving the stage.

The O2, formerly the Millennium Dome, is becoming a venue of choice for comeback performers. Britney Spears plays there eight nights in June, and Prince did a 21-day gig in 2007.

Michael Jackson expected to announce comeback in UK
Tue Mar 3, 2009 5:31pm GMT

LONDON (Reuters) - Pop star Michael Jackson will be in London this week to make a "special announcement," representatives said Tuesday, and industry sources said it is likely to involve a series of comeback concerts in the city.

Outside Organisation, the music PR company which represents Jackson in Britain, has sent an emailed invitation to a press conference at the O2 arena in London, where the concerts are likely to take place probably later this year.

Jackson and representatives from music promoter AEG Live are expected to attend the Thursday event.

I wonder if he'll be performing any new material or greatest hits stuff. Since it’s in London hopefully my friend will check it out. His judgment is the only one I trust to give an accurate review of the show.

Oh, I screwed up. I meant my ‘friend’. Normally I would fly out for a visit and see MJ with him but not these days. Heck, I’m not sure he’ll even go but I’m guessing he will since it’s in his town.

Finally a sticky MJ thread.

I'm liking the new official site layout. They can't be serious with their poll though...

So after a week or so, the O2 rumours are back? Even if it's announced, still dunno how MJ is gonna pull it off...

Jacko announcement
Michael Jackson expected to confirm 2009 comeback with London residency
03 March 2009 - There will be a big Michael Jackson announcement at the 02, Greenwich on Thursday 5 March.
After months of rumours, the 50 year-old singer is expected to make an appearance at the venue to announce details of a series of shows there.

It is thought the tour could run for 30 dates from July, with an estimated pay cheque of one and a half million pounds a night to the singer.

The last time the Thriller star performed in the UK was back in 2006, when he sang We Are The World during the World Music Awards ceremony at London's Earl’s Court.

His last tour took place 12 years ago, spanning 58 cities and saw the pop legend take in 82 dates.

He follows in the footsteps of Prince, who played there for 21 nights in 2007 and Britney Spears who is coming to the UK in June for eight shows.
