Regarding MJ career it is pretty obvious that the list should go as follow:

Off The Wall
Thriller
Bad
Dangerous
History

It is funny how chronologically his music has been less exciting over the years.
I do admit i have a soft spot for Bad and Thriller although musically OTW is way better but hey! have you seen my childhood?? lol

Those are Jacksons albums. In that case though, I like "Destiny" and "Triumph" better than any of his solo albums.

Well he sings on them! I think it fair enough considering his limited output as a solo artist.

My Michael is 70s/80s. You know, before he mutilated himself.

Ok, I'll do this one.

1) Dangerous and Bad
3) Invincible
4) History
5) Thriller

Its not quite that clear cut, as "Bad" might be my all time fav these days. I just love all the high tech synths and synclaviers. Production alone is just heaven to me.

Iam probably the only one with "invincible" in the top 5 LOL.

"Farewell my summer love" lol

Actually, I pretty much love all of side 1. Its sorta like New Edition but better LOL. Ever since I was a kid, I always loved "dont let it get you down" "melody" and my personal fav "touch the one you love". I dig all the new Maurice Starresque overdubs, but from "girl your so together" onwards, its pretty awful.

"Forever michael" is an album I could never get with. "just a little bit of you" is about the only track I like. Some of it makes David Cassidy sound like the Ramones, its very twee.

I do love to hate "one day in your life" though. Its so bad and cheesy and overproduced, but that hook stays in my head for ages. "Dapper dan" is hilarious aswell.

Still, 4} and 5) on your list are interesting.

I wish Motown would finally re-release it with the original 1972/73 mixes

the original mix of Call On Me is way better than the 1984 mix

1973 mix

As a general rule of thumb with me, I cant get with Michael's ballads from the Motown era, or the j5's. Never really cared for "call on me". Interesting that they released the 1973 mix.

Whats your fav cuts on "farewell my summer love" then? I think only real diehards had that album pre- internet, as Motown never released it on CD. It was one of my first Michael Jackson albums, but as I said, I only really love "dont let it get you down" and "touch the one you love". I also dig "melody" and his cover of "you really got a hold on me" is nice too.

"To make my father proud" is ironic LOL

Hey, I really like "childhood" lol You can just tell in his voice how much he loves to sing it. Not since Quincy Jones had a producer got such good vocals from him (in this case David Foster). I wish they would work together again

Don't really like Off the wall or Invincible but I guess I have to put a number 5 it would be off the wall. Cause I group his solo albums as a kid as Jackson 5 ones. Arent they singing back up on some of them anyway?

On most of the first 2 albums, yeah they are

I have this timeline a friend worked on from their time at Motown and it blew me away. I was thinking "Did they ever have time off?"
