Guitarist Frank Axtell Website

Visit http://www.frankaxtell.com

Please share your thoughts on the music, website, and way of distribution.

With over two decades in the music industry, Frank Axtell is a renowned guitarist, composer and teacher and is a major contributor to the south Florida jazz-fusion scene. He performs with his own jazz ensemble, The Frank Axtell Group. Most recently, he has performed with other artists such as The Larry Marshall Project. He was chosen as a featured soloist at the Berks Jazz festival in Reading, PA. He toured extensively in the mid 80s along the Atlantic coast & has recorded on the West Coast at San Franciscos The Record Plant. Thankfully he has decided to make south Florida his home.

Frank graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has always taken his continuing course of musical evolution seriously, learning from prominent guitarists Vincent Bredice, Joe Diorio, Scott Henderson, and Jack Wilkins. In 1990-91 Frank served on the faculty at Miami Dade Community College and has taught guitar and electric bass at The Academy of Fine Arts in West Palm Beach. He performs guitar clinics and teaches guitar and electric bass at Mars Music, West Palm Beach. Currently, with over sixty private students, Frank also owns and operates his own multimedia studio Digital Soundscapes. Frank produces many local artists in addition to composing and engineering.

In addition to being one of my best freinds, Frank and I put together Digital Soundscapes Stuidos about five years ago and since the NPGMC first appeared a couple of years ago, we've decided to take on the web as a way of sharing and promoting the the sights and sounds we make.

I'd really like full input on the sight layout and design.

I particuarly am looking for feedback on:

The Site Intro: too much? Keep it or loose it?

Loading time: Too long or just right?

Graphic content: Thumbs up or down?

Music: Would you buy music like this?

Distribution Method: Would you feel safer buying it from someone like Amazon.com? (that is if you wanted to buy it)

We are just two local guys in South Florida making a presence for ourselves on the web. I frequent this site and love the comments I read and know I'll get honest feedback from all of you.

Thanks!

Hi Frank,

I enjoyed your site. I don't know if it could done but I would add the sound of a 10th fret Dm Chord when you click a different subject.

I think adding a forum would nice.

To answer questions from guitar players and to interact with people who enjoy your music.

Best Wishes!

I did think the intro was rather long but hey, thats what the 'skip intro' button is for lol.

I have a 128k connection so not many pages take very long to load. Yours was fine too but may take ages on a slower connection.

Graphic content is nice. Though Im not really a graphics webdesigner.

The music was spot on mate. I listened to the samba one on mp3.com. Jees man, if you are indeed Frank, you are one shit hot guitarist wink

Amazon is cool for distribution but I reccomend that you look into a Perl shopping cart program or something like that. It looks unprofessional if visitors are required to leave your main site to buy a cd. Perlshop is the one I use.

Good luck in your future ventures. Please check out my music & site at http://www.cloud9mission.uk.co wink

God bless

Thanks for the input.
I love the work you put into your site as well.

I'm not Frank, that's my studio partner. I built the site and I'm almost finished with my own studio site. Frank has really helped me out a lot over the years by buying a computer about five years ago and leting me use it (almost nightly) to learn photoshop and other graphic programs.

A couple of years later, I was able to get a great job doing this for a living as well as video production and print.

Over the last five years or so, we've put together a pretty kick ass studio here in south florida. We're breaking even now but when that profit margin increases perhaps I'll be able to quit my day job.

He's definately the man on guitar.

I'm just a whittle 'ol drummer.

Did you ever hear the one about the three musicians and a drummer that walked into a bar?

Da da dum
tssee...

We both hope to spread the site around. I thought I'd try here first since you all have such great taste in music!

I don't think we'll be shooting for the top 40 charts anytime soon.

Maybe we can fit in a rapper?

Fusion Rap Anyone?

How about urban scat?

Nice site... smile Very clean overall(and yeah, the intro is a bit much...the lightning really doesn't add much for the visitor...)...I haven't listened to the samples yet, but will...

Nice job... smile

Thanks wellbeyond.

I'm thinking the lightning has gotten old too.

But it does add to the song being played.

Probably the best studio site I've ever came across.

http://www.estudio.com/noflash.html

Anyone seen anything better?
