Seriously, all you people do is bitch!!! The fact that Barack had to even mention this song shows how stupid people are!!! Ludacris didn't make the song for Barack's approval, he made the song about his feelings about the election. He's not a "thug", he's never been in trouble with the law, and he's not a "gangsta rapper"!!!

Maybe instead of generalizing - which is part of your complaint with this thred - you should directly address the posts you have a problem with. I'm not blaming Obama for Ludacris' ignorant ass lines.

Seriously, all you people do is bitch!!! The fact that Barack had to even mention this song shows how stupid people are!!! Excuse me but Obama did not mention or bring the song up. Fox news did. You know they are sitting around looking for every little thing they can find to pin on him. Obama himself probably didn't even know the song existed until a stink was made about it. I mean, he's a classy man and I just can't see him sitting around listening to trash like shit hop. He's also 46 so that means he was on earth before shit hop took over and was exposed to actual music. Most grown folks don't accept gutter trash when they grew up with good shit. I didn't start the thread to trash Obama. He didn't have anything to do with it. I like the man and he's getting my vote. I started it to trash the shit hopper that recorded the song. And hell, any time the sun comes up in the morning is a good enough reason to bash shit hop. Ludacris didn't make the song for Barack's approval, he made the song about his feelings about the election.
Which are low class, trashy, and ignorant. He's not a "thug", he's never been in trouble with the law, and he's not a "gangsta rapper"!!!
Which is even more ignorant. Someone who isn't a thug but wants to look like one. See, shit hop in general has people's thinking ass backwards. A thug should be something you scrape off the bottom of your shoe, not something you should admire and want to look and act like. . . . [Edited 7/31/08 15:00pm] Andy is a four letter word.

I understand that ludacris may have went a bit far on this one but i don't feel sorry for McCain because the turd has taken every shot that he can at Obama because he knows no one is interested in what he has to say but the die hard GOP supporters. Even if you are not traditionally into politics at least Obama is vigorous and very energetic and knows the issues. Don't laugh at my funk

Sadly Obama has admitted to listening to shit hop. I think it was Jay-Z or somebody. But I'd like to think it was something he said just to sound hip like Madonna throwing up the Roc sign on 106 & Park. :cringe: Jay-Z is the default rapper people throw out. I would have thought better of him if he said he had The Tipping Point in rotation. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Wow. You guys ARE pretty ignorant (heavy on the rant) when it comes to Ludacris. Methinks there's too little actual knowledge of his material and too much watching of ye olde Faux News.
Ludacris is certainly no gangster rapper. He does have a few edgy songs but almost ALL of his hits are his party songs that are about dancing and sex. He's certainly not the first celebrity to state his political preference. Where was all of this anger when a celeb was supporting Bush? Clinton? There wasn't this big of a ruckus when Oprah declared her support for Barack. Why is it all of a sudden an issue now? Luda also wrote this song: Yeah, that's real "gangsta" Americans have developed a horrible habit of having too much of a preference and believing that it matters. People these days want to customize the messenger to fit the message. This really needs to quit. So what if you don't like the person delivering the message. That doesn't make it wrong. And I'm about sick of Barack & camp denouncing every damn body. Pretty soon he's going to alienate everybody that's supporting him. I hope its just a ruse to get into office so that he can do what needs to be done. I guess we shall see. Oh, and Luda is hip-hop just like the Roots are hip-hop. The beauty of the genre is that it can't be compartmentalized into one style. [Edited 8/1/08 0:19am]

You guys know that the Chinese rapper, Jin, made a really good song called "Open Letter to Obama". After hearing it, Barack's campaign people put Jin as their number 1 friend on MySpace.
You guys should check it out, it's hot. Really listen to what he's saying, Jin really expresses how some of us feel in a very intelligent and accessible way. [Edited 8/1/08 6:23am] |

But let's not let facts get in the way of a soundbite. And there is only one president on the 1 dollar bill. Perhaps he should have listed all denominations of paper currency, to spell it out for those who didnt understand. Exactly. There was nothing incorrect about what Obama said. President George Washington is on the one dollar bill. President Thomas Jefferson is on the two dollar bill. President Abraham Lincoln is on the five dollar bill. President Andrew Jackson is on the twenty dollar bill. President U.S. Grant is on the fifty dollar bill. And so on. edit: got my presidents mixed up. oops. [Edited 8/1/08 11:42am]

Really? I forgot that all black people love shit hop and me hating shit hop must make me a racist. And if you believe that, then you are the one that's a racist. It's not just thugs and shit hop that I can't stand. I can't stand rednecks and trailer trash either. I'm not a racist, I'm a trashist and trash comes in all colors. Genesia said: Efan said: Fair enough. But he's predicting they will. No, he isn't. He's insinuating that they already have and will continue to do so. Well, I have a little prediction of my own. I predict that anyone who dares criticize The Anointed One between now and November - on any front, no matter how legitimate, no matter how issues based - will be accused of racism. It's already happening. Anyone who crticized The Incumbent between 9.12.01 and 2006 was accused of being unpatriotic and treasonous. What you're talking about now, Genesia, is a walk in the park compared to Obamamania. After all, Obama's flacks never told people to "watch what they say." But I digress. Anyone who believes that the GOP, through McCain, Bush, or anyone else, will not attempt to inject racial overtones into this campaign is sleepwalking through history. What Obama said was a preemptive strike, to let his opponents know he'll not be Swift Boated on the basis of his race. And even if McCain had not done so until now, it puts him on the defensive and on notice that he's dealing with a candidate who will fight him back and has all the cash in the world to do so. Luda didn't do Candidate Obama any favors, regardless of his intentions. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
