Eurythmics - Savage I finally downloaded the expanded version of this album from iTunes. I lost my original CD version (which I have played to DEATH).
This is by far my favorite Eurythmics album...and I am DIGGIN the remixes of Beethoven, Shame, and I Need a Man! So some questions for you all out there...WHAT is YOUR fave Eurythmics album? Next, are the expanded versions of their other albums as good as this? I have been avoiding these since I still have the CDs of all the others without the remixes and don't see anything on them that wants me to spend the $$. As for sound quality, I also have ALL except Peace on vinyl which all sound better than CD or MP3 (obviously). | |

savage is my fav eurythmics album as well. i was going to make a thread about
it a while back and i gathered a lot of pictures, youtube clips & interviews from that era for it. but then i decided all i really wanted was to listen to the album and enjoy it. but there are a lot of nice facts about the recording of savage. for instance mick jagger was hanging out with dave at the french chateau when he was doing work on the instrumental tracks and jagger was the main influence for the way "i need a man" sounds. etc etc. the expanded versions all have something nice although there are still quite a few essential things missing. i would have rather had some more obscure or even unreleased tracks on there instead of so many mixes and live versions. i have the "boxed" collection set and it's absolutey great. the new booklets with extensive linernotes are a treasure. there is also a wealth of pictures in them. the soundquality of the discs is a nice improvement on the original albums, although i don't think they sound lightyears better or anything. perhaps on a really great system you can hear more but on my system they just sound a bit better and more crisp and clear. would have also rather seen 1984 in that boxset instead of Peace. but hey, i can understand how that would be real hard given that the album was put out on another label and all. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

As we all know, I adore everything Eurythmics from In the Garden through to "Was It Just Another Love Affair". Savage isn't my favorite Eurythmics album, but it is excellent. The title of my favorite Eury album would have to go to Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). That album opened me up to the world of Eurythmics, and has become so ingrained into my DNA (no pun intended) that I feels as if I've always known it.
The reissues were a dream come true for me, even if they were a bit sparse on the extras. Several B-sides are missing, and like Isten, I would have loved to hear some unreleased tracks. I know that they recorded over 40 tracks for Sweet Dreams itself, including cultish songs like "Beautiful Armadillo" and others. Maybe someday a rarities set will come out. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you! | |

I love it. I like Savage alot, but my favest album is Touch, as that was the album that introduced me to The Eurythmics, exactly like what Moonbeam has with Sweet Dreams. |

sweet dreams was my introduction to the eurythmics but i've never learned to love it quite as much as savage though. it's like lovesexy being my 1st prince album but sott/parade still being my favs. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Savage is my favorite too. I feel like it's their best blend of the electronic/rocky/ballad diversity they have going on.
I Need You, and You Have Placed a Chill are probably my 2 favorite songs of theirs ever. | |
