so when it says the show starts promptly at 8pm, does it really start at 8 sharp... i'll be driving out of town in traffic for the show and i hope i don't miss anything!

When I saw him in San Jose a few weeks ago, it didn't start until 8:30 or 8:40. It is rare that concerts start on time. I didn't know what to expect either since he didn't have an opening act. Just try and get there as quickly as you can...safely of course.

thanks! i won't feel so rushed now wink

I saw him twice in London a couple of years ago. Absolutely brilliant. I haven't read that much about the US tour - either here or anywhere. Guess it hasn't big as big a deal as the European tour was. Shame.

It's not been promoted well and he hasn't had a big hit here in a while.

I was fortunate enough to see him twice - Las Vegas and Anaheim. I was a guest at the Vegas show. I liked it so much that I bought a ticket to the Anaheim show. He covered his career very well with the song choices. I too wish that he would do more promotion because it's a show worth seeing. Well done George. smile
pray God bless everyone. NO exceptions. pray

Actually I appreciated the break, especially for the 20 minute countdown. Maybe he needed a little break it was cool to have that rejuvination period. Most of the time at concerts the artists leave and a good 5 to 10 minutes are spent clapping and screaming for them to come back. I could have gone to the restroom by then.

Very good show! We had a great time, and I couldn't think of a song I'd want him to do that he didn't. thumbs up! And, yes, the stage setup was brilliant. Really exciting!

So true! Songs I wanted to hear but totally didn't expect -- I'm Your Man (both versions!!!), Kissing A Fool, A Different Corner.

I saw both the Faith tour in 88 and the Under Cover tour in the early 90's, and I was just not prepared for the show he put on. It blew me away. He was in a great mood.

The L.A. show was on his birthday, and during the countdown, fans spread the word to start singing Happy Birthday at the :30 mark. The crowd totally pulled it off. When he then thanked the crowd for that a few songs in to the second act, a 2nd Happy Birthday erupted from the crowd. Then later, the band played it, Bo Derek brought out a fake cake, and then they band went into the Stevie Wonder version. It was a lot of fun.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

incognito

It's now, 6:30 p.m. in Chicago on July 9 and I'm about to leave work and head over to the United Center to see George Michael for the first time in concert. I should have seen this man in 1988, but I didn't. I will write a review on this gig tomorrow. I know it's going to be an amazing concert because George has an amazing voice and he's great eye candy even if I am a woman and he practices a different "religion," as they say in Boystown.
