"Hard Candy" sux!

Most of the songs on Madonna's new album have the same recycled hip-hop beat. the CD sounds like stale hash & the songs are mostly not that great. I think Madonna did a whack job on this album. "On and on the beat goes..." LALALA

However, I dig Candy shop, Miles away, Incredible & Dance 2Night. Give it 2 me, Spanish lesson, & Voices aren't so terrible either. She's Not Me, Devil would't recognize you & Beat goes on (album version) are junk, IMO. Ring My Bell should be on the CD, it's a nice song. dancing jig

Madonna sucks big time!

I don't know why people buy her stuff. The bitch can sing a note and her guitar playing is like a elephant fucking a chimp!

Dreadful.

Gimme 50 cent anytime over this whore...Total poser she is!

And that accent!

I'm still loving it. I'll have to reevaluate my Madonna album rankings, but I'm pretty confident it's in the top half for me.

I agree - she is a corporate bastard and all that but I'd still take her over 50 any day! wink

I love it still!! I'm happy I like it that much. Probably you liked COADF more, which I only like for 4 songs. I always thought of it as to too dark to be fun and uptempo.

It is definitely in the lower half of her records for me.
Maybe I'm just not a happy upbeat person! I like the darker stuff she has done. It's also a matter of personal taste. Hip hop and R&B really isn't my thing. The songs are catchy but except for a few lack any personality. The exceptions are Miles Away, Devil and Voices. It does seem like she let Timbaland etc. take over and didn't put her own stamp on it. I also find her vocals a lot weaker than on albums like Confessions and Ray of Light. R&B just doesn't suit her in my opinion.
I think the songs will be fun to hear live, but as a cd that I enjoy listening to at home, it's lacking substance for me.

I like it, save for Pharrell's insistence on "singing"
Give It 2 Me, Heartbeat and Incredible are as fun as anything she's ever done.

My favorite songs on this CD are "Miles Away","Incredible","Beat Goes On","Heartbeat" and "Dance 2Night".These five songs are among the best stuff she's ever done, imo.

The 4-song sequence that begins with "She's Not Me" and ends with "Dance 2Night" is one of the strongest dance music sequences on a Madonna album.

The only songs I don't really care for are "Spanish Lesson" and "Voices".

I think it's good. It's far from her best, but Beat Goes On, Incredible, Dance 2night, Give It To Me and 4 minutes are awesome.

The Devil grew on me and I like it now, Miles Away is nice but so overrated among fans, and She's Not Me has a good groove.

Confessions was a much better album though for sure.

At first, I loved the album but now I hardly even listen to it. It's a fun dance album, but if i'm being honest I think most of the songs on there are disposable and wont be remembered in a few years . Highlights on HC though for me are: "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You", "Beat Goes On", "Give It 2 Me" "She's Not Me" and "Miles Away" (Which I think is a GREAT song. It's the only song I listen to from HC these days. I hope Madonna releases it as a single).

I haven't listened to it since the first week of its release. I still think it's an embarrassment of an album, and I just want to move on to the next release!

Those are the only two songs that I don't like lol Madonna should have shelved the last three songs (even the excellent "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You") and closed the album with three funky, uptempo Timbaland jams.It seems like she favored the Pharrell stuff and didn't give Timbaland and Danja enough room to get truly funky.

It won't make me reevaluate my Madonna album rankings but I'm enjoying it for the time being lol I like the direction of this album and the previous one (Confessions). After the 'American Life' fiasco,I think Madonna bounced back in a big way, keeping the focus on the dancefloor.

Sadly, I'm in the same boat. I still dig the CD but I have no desire to listen to it. It really was like candy, I had too much of it when I got it and now the thought of it makes me roll my eyes. I'm starting to think that even though I like it, people here may have a point that these songs are disposable and that's unfortunate. Maybe one of the songs from Hard Candy will pop up during Shuffle on my iPod and I'll start jamming to it again. We'll see. nod
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Good to see Incredible getting lots of love in here.

I think Pharrell's voice really goes well with Madge's in this one, at least he can reach SOME notes.
