Could these be the Jacksons remasters that we've been waiting for?

A 5-CD box set containing five albums, newly remastered plus original sleeve artwork: 'The Jacksons','Going Places','Destiny','Triumph' and 'Victory'.Released yesterday in the UK,each CD is superbly presented in a high quality, rigid cardboard slipcase containing 5 vinyl replica sleeves.

Go to this link and type in "original album classics" then scroll down: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/dis...sku=812669

no bonus tracks mad

I've held off on buying their albums because I knew remasters were pending. Do you think they'll be sold individually?

Not sure.I'm gonna buy this 5-CD set even though I'm not too crazy about the 'Victory' album.

In the new issue of Record Collector magazine (with Madonna on the cover),there is a print ad for these remasters. This is what it says:

ORIGINAL ALBUM CLASSICS :THE ESSENTIAL NEW SERIES

5-CD Collections of legendary albums from iconic artists
Featuring titles previously unavailable on CD
Remastered with bonus tracks plus original sleeve artwork

They then list the artists that are a part of this series:

Carole King
Patti Smith
Jefferson Airplane
Jeff Beck
Big Audio Dynamite
Blue Oyster Cult
Cheap Trick
Earth Wind and Fire
Rory Gallagher
Hall and Oates
The Isley Brothers
The Jacksons
Cyndi Lauper
Ted Nugent
Poco
Elvis Presley
The Psychedelic Furs
Lou Reed
Santana
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai

hmmm I guess there are bonus tracks on some of the other artists' CDs,but not on the Jacksons, unfortunately.Oh well...I'll settle for fresh remasters.

Please inform back when you get them. I already have them but they definitely need remastering.

You can hear them here -

http://www.zavvi.co.uk/mu...10.1/p.jsf

Do they sound remastered to anyone here ? They sound a lot clearer to me although this is only a site so it's hard to tell of course.

When ever I hear the term remaster.....I think they are admitting that the 1st master was NOT very good.

Most CDs of old or classic albums that were brought out in the 80's were rush released in order to cash in on the CD explosion and little or no effort was put into making the recordings truly digital or clearer.

That's why so many of them need to be remastered now (see Prince's early back catalogue for further info...)

Unless they contain some bonus tracks, I'm not buying them. I already have all five CDs and three of them on vinyl. I want some videos and television appearances from that era.

I was hoping that the 'Destiny' remaster would include the kickass 12" version of "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)" as one of the bonus tracks.

It's a shame that the Jacksons reunion tour never happened.Imagine if they were on the road right now....celebrating the release of these remasters with a big world tour.Another missed opportunity confused

I guess I'll have to buy this off of Towerrecords.com, since Amazon doesn't have any copies in stock. Anyway, it's a good opportunity to own all of their studio albums in one place, because the only thing I have from the Jacksons is the Essential compilation from 2004. I know that sucks! sad
