I love that album,,,and I love her previous album before that.

She never really got the praise she rightfully deserves.

Also, she could've played Billie Holiday in a picture she looks ALOT like Lady Day during her latter years.

I dig Ann Peebles, esp the Hi record years.
The music stands out, her vocals are good and bad...depends on the song.
'I Can't Stand The Rain' is my favorite of her songs.
'I Needed Somebody' is another, but I dig Irma Thomas version more.

Her keyboardist (Paul Brown) is an acquaintence of mine and one thing he wanted folks to know is that she's still an active artist.






Her first album in almost a decade, Brand New Classics (2006)...



...consists of rearranged versions of her classic tunes (along with a couple of covers) done with an acoustic vibe.


From what I understand, she should have a DVD of recent performances out soon.
