To me touch was their weakest album in the 80's.
The 2 singles from the album too tight, lady's wild, and the title track touch were the highlights of the album. I also liked the ballad can't say goodbye but the rest of the album was mediocre imo. Confunkshun put the stank on lady's wild. Don't laugh at my funk

I won't front i liked it particularly the 12 inch version with the breakdown. What you laughing at girl? I'll pull the plug on you. Damn! Beep Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep(synthesizer) The fact that they were running out of ideas is the exact reason why the label wanted confunkshun to try something daring and different which is why hip hop producer larry smith was brought in to produce the song. Even if electric lady wasn't one of your favorite singles by the group, you had to appreciate the album with the opening cut turn the music up, tell me what you gonna do, and the smooth ballads I'm leaving baby and pretty lady. I think where the band really started to lose their creativity was on the burnin love album sans felton pilate. [Edited 5/23/08 9:56am] Don't laugh at my funk

This is a site put together by linda mccall the wife of confunkshun's late drummer louis mccall. www.theloosebook.com Thanks for that link phunkdaddy,...man, I never knew there was that much turmoil in the Con Funk Shun camp... are Coop and Pilate tripping that hard or is it being exaggerated.... "Cooper, who has never had an original thought in the 30+ years since I've known him, not only re-formed the band after his failed solo career, he didn't even talk to the other band members about it. When I asked him about it in February, he admitted that his manager suggested that his solo show could get more gigs if they billed themselves as Con Funk Shun since the audience was coming out to hear the group's hit records, not Cooper's few Warner Bros. releases. But what is particularly painful is that, after Louis' murder in 1997, Cooper is the only band member who never reached out to me or the children. Not once in 10 years" Thanks again phunkdaddy... Linda Lou is off the chain.

Darn i overlooked that part. I tripped on the part about some of the
wives not getting along and the wives weren't allowed on the band's tour bus except linda since she was in the business. Must go back and read more. Just read all of it. Yea linda mccall is off the chain. Somehow or another though i don't buy everything she's claiming. Michael Cooper always seemed to be a level headed guy as well as felton. Yeah, there are others with opinions and accounts on things that happened to yet tell their But she puts Coop on blast, "When this bio was first publishing earlier this year, Cooper had the audacity to get mad at me, saying that I'd said some "unflattering things" about him. But when ask if I LIED about anything that I've written, he had no answer"....
