Great track. That and 'Thinking of You' are underrated. Or more appropriately, overshadowed by all that came before them.

That's True...even though it's later EWF, I still love both of those tracks...

RipHer2Shreds

One of my very favorites from their 80s output, and one of their best ballads.

EW&F are often criticized for their 80s music but if you go back and listen to those albums, you'll find some real gems. This song is a prime example music Another excellent 80s track:"Wanna Be With You" from the 'Raise' album.

Oh shit, the synth bass on this track is POPPIN'. Love this track, its very classic EWF. I actually like the fact this song has so very few horn parts, it really gives it a midtempo lowkey feel. great track

Thank you for picking this song. It's easily on my top 10 EWF songs, and highly underrated imo.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

I love this track too. You mentioned wanna be with you. Something Special
from powerlight reminds me of wanna be with you. I consider powerlight to
be their last good consistent album of the 80's. The album that followed
electric universe was mediocre.

'Electric Universe' gets a bad rap but that album contains a few great songs: the sparkling ballad "Could It Be Right"...also "Touch","Magnetic" and "We're Living In Our Own Time" are good songs too.I think many fans just didn't want EW&F to venture so far away from their trademark sound. If this album had been recorded by somebody else,it would have been better received.

Much to the contrary, the EWF style was stale and tired. They struggled with finding a direction and ended with a series of 80% filler albums that extends to this current day. The upside is the classic material sounds better every day.

The 80s was a tough time for many R&B/funk bands who were so popular in the 70s.Trends were changing and they had to adapt.Kool and The Gang totally changed their style/sound and had the most success, but it left many of their older fans disappointed.I guess there was no way to please everybody.Still,I like much of EW&F's 80s output. On each of their 80s albums,I can find several cool tunes.
