10 Aritsts that "IF" u could put in the Hall of Fame you would

With the ceromony only about 2-3 weeks away, if You could induct 10 artists that ARE eligible (meaning 25 years from their first recording as a group or solo artist) that you would induct, basically this is about who in your mind has been overlooked and you would induct right now.

For me:

1: CHICAGO- its criminal that they arent in, thats the main reason
2: HALL AND OATES- for the same reasons
3: HEART- mainly because there are no "strong" female rock singers in
4: PAT BENATAR- same reasons
5: JOAN JETT- same reasons, plus she influenced alot of female rock singers
6: RICK SPRINGFIELD- during the 70's a folk/rock singer, and then from 80-85 ran off just as many hits as his contemporaries in that era.
7: THE MOODY BLUES- mainly because Floyd is in and the Blues are just as good
8: BERLIN-mainly for Teri Nunn's amazing leadership in vocals and persona, but also the fact that Berlin was way before their time and people are still trying to emulate them.
9: INXS- well if U2 and REM are in, its time.
10: KISS- like them or not, these cats should be in.

I'll take Chicago, Hall and Oates, The Moody Blues and KISS from your list and include the following:

1.) Luther Vandross
2.) Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (producers)
3.) Barry White
4.) The Ohio Players
5.) Jerry Butler (as a solo act)
6.) Kool & The Gang

I also feel The Commodores and INXS should be inducted, but only after two of these acts are removed from my list.

Louis Jordan was inducted in 1987.

Good calls on Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald, who are not inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They would be the first people I would put on my list for induction. I also will include Nina Simone.

1.) Ella Fitzgerald (early influence)
2.) Quincy Jones (producer)
3.) Nina Simone (early influence)
4.) Chicago
5.) Hall and Oates
6.) The Moody Blues
7.) KISS
8.) Luther Vandross
9.) Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (producers)
10.) Barry White

Then The Ohio Players, Jerry Butler (as a solo act), Kool & The Gang, The Commodores and INXS.

Teena Marie-This talented singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentelist should be a shoo-in cause she has written and given us some classics songs and albums...SHEER talent this lady does it all and its beyond ME why she has'nt got a vote YET!

Sheila E.-Before Prince she was a multi-talented muscian and after Prince she still is a musician..A career with hi's & lo's, she should have vote on mere musicianship, she plays it all funk,pop,r&b,rock,country....One of the best percussionist/drummer's BAR NONE!

Stacy Lattisaw-Before Brandy,Monica,Keyshia Cole & Raven Symone-Talented Teen star who grew into a nice intelligent young lady who's given us many memorable albums, a voice that did'nt seem to fit on a little body, Ms Lattisaw had such power for a little girl and she knew how to interpret a song.

Culture Club
Chaka Khan-ABSOLUTELY
Stephanie Mills-WHAT'S taking so LONG!
The Bangles
Whitney Houston-can't take talent away from this lady.
Pat Benatar-I thought she was in, SHE SHOULD BE IN..P. Benatar can ROCK like no other.
The Eurythmics-Just Highway robbery that this innovative duo is'nt in. I would include these guys.

Honestly the Pretenders shouldnt even be in, but thats a whole other story. I dont view her as a strong ROCK female singer, and even close to the level of Ann Wilson.

The Pretenders are a rock band and you have to put her in for, if nothing else, her iconic status among younger, female musicians.

Sade's 1st album was in 1985, right?

She (or they) is not eligible until 2010.

You had to have put out your 1st album 25 years ago.

1. The Cure- Legendary, visionary and diverse, they were the machine of Robert Smith's genius craft, and pumped out classic album after classic album.

2. Eurythmics- Among the most innovative artists of the 80s, their work is severely undervalued.

3. New Order- Their successful reinvention after Ian Curtis' suicide into one of the most influential dance artists ever warrants their inclusion.

4. Joy Division- Their influence is really big right now, and through their short careers, they managed to forge a new sound. If the Sex Pistols can get in after only releasing one proper album, why can't Joy Division get in with 2?

5. Kraftwerk- The most influential and important electronic act should have been enshrined long ago.

6. Lou Reed- I actually thought he was in. It's shocking that acts like John Mellencamp, The Mamas and the Papas and The Grateful Dead are in before Lou Reed. Shame!

7. Depeche Mode- One of the preeminent and most successful new wave acts deserves inclusion.

8. The Stooges- Proto-punk legends. Three classic albums. Major influence.

9. Can- Ear-bending ensemble that redefines music for those who hear them.

10. Grace Jones- Her 80-82 material alone gets her in.

The Fall - fat chance of that ever happening obviously, but they get my vote as the most consistently great rock band ever.
Can
John Cale - Paris 1919 is my favourite album associated with the Velvet Underground
Gene Clark - the true father of country rock - superior to Gram Parsons by almost every standard, I think: a better singer, songwriter - he was even better looking.
Love
Robert Wyatt
Wire - their first three albums mapped out the next ten years of alterna-rock
Scott Walker - used the phrase 'stupid-ass' in a hit single, went on to have just about the weirdest musical career of the last 1/2 century.
Todd Rundgren
AC/DC

Jerry Butler is inducted as a member of The Impressions. Curtis Mayfield is inducted both as a member of the group and as a solo act, and it's fair to say The Ice Man's solo career is more than comparable with Mayfield's.
