Die hard and realistic MJ fan here. I think MJ fans need to stop waiting for 1980 thru 1988 MJ who was full of confidence and loved being on stage to just show up.

I honestly think MJ is having confidence problems with his appearance and not being on stage in so long. Plus the fact that he is close to 50 years old. Maybe he feels he can't do it like he used to,or maybe he is insecure about his appearance now.

I just say appreciate what he brought to the table when he was in his prime at the top of his game.

Well, he wasn't there, was he? Maybe it's BS, maybe not. But we all know how much MJ loves his awards. Even the made up ones.

Oh I know Michael loves him some awards lol but it was a rumor that he would be appearing or performing, so I'm not really surprised especially since nobody didn't want to see Fergie and Akon do a tribute to Thriller lol

At least he has two of his peak albums inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame tonight:

Thriller & Off The Wall

I wonder if Kanye is going off now! confused Still love him dude though! (No Homo). He'll be alright. At least he has ten Grammys now and holds the record for the hip-hop artist with the most Album of the Year noms.

I'm actually proud of Herbie getting the Album of The Year trophy. Even though I didn't really pay attention to the River album, it's about time a true jazz legend gets this award.

I'm glad Amy got three of the big ones for Song & Record of The Year and Best New Artist. I actually just brought her album from Amazon.com.

What I've observed about the Grammy voters over the past ten years is that they love women, new , old and whatever. Amy Winehouse has five Grammys, Norah jones has more than that, Alicia has won over five as has Beyonce. Since I'M on the west coast, I'm reading between the posts waiting to watch the better performances. The Time and Rhianna weren't all that bad considering she's only nineteen and was a baby when they last worked together.

Didn't think Mike would show up.

Tina still got it.

Little Richard is the greatest.

The Time rocked with or without Rihanna, lol.

The rest of the show was a'ight.

That's it. lol

lol Haven't seen it all yet, but these comments are cracking me up. I'm only at Kanye's performance now.....gonna fast forward to Tina Turner. Not too impressive so far. Rihanna saying "Chilli Sauce"? Ugh.....sounds so wrong. Yeah, the opener with Alicia.....borrriiiing. That fake playing is getting old. I really wanna see her get down like Little Richard on the ivories.

Oh i agree on that with Kanye and the music, i thought it was rude to start the music during that, HOWEVER, if i was in his shoes, giving thanks to my mother would have been the first thing out of my mouth, not dissing Nas, not joking on Common, and not showing my ego.

I think he has issues too, maybe he's indecisive about showing up or something. I never take fans seriously when they expect mj to show up out of nowhere, but I felt like there was a good reason this time to expect michael or janet to show up, but they didn't.
