Thank you I agree also!!!!... And for some who think Herbie Hancock is boring.

This is a monster musician who played with the true great African American artists like Miles Davis, Coltrane, etc. Also he also pioneered a hip hop inspired sound back when Kanye was still in diapers. Some of you posters need a music history lesson..
[Edited 2/10/08 19:33pm]

Naw I know all about Coltrane, The Bird, Miles, Ellington, Billie and Ella, just because I like Kanye and his music doesn't mean that I need a history lesson. Maybe some of you need a lesson on here to not judge others who have different opinions and tastes in music than you do. Grow up.

Maybe you should give Kanye that same advice.

Although I do not like country music, Vince Gill is a much more accomplished musician than Kanye will ever be, so he gets major props for that.

Okay so yeah Vince Gill may be a much more accomplished artist in your opinion, but no matter what anybody says on here, Kanye is a creative artist in his own right. He may not be in your eyes, but thats just how me, myself and I think. He's a much more exciting live performer for a hip hop artist, i'd surely enjoy seeing him perform much more than NAS, Jay-Z or Ludicris, who all stand up there rapping a song with an entourage in the background. Kanye is a way better performer than Diddy, although all Diddy does is sample sample sample, yes Kanye does sample, but at least its not just a plain old sample (like Diddy does) he uses it in a creative way. And I also listen to Kanye's words, its not all about the guns the money and the fame with him, he raps about simple daily life things. So yes he is different and I like that. You don't think he's talented, well thats your opinion and I'll respect that, but please respect the fact that there are many fans out here who feel the same way that I do about Kanye...because if they weren't then his albums wouldn't be selling and he surely wouldn't be winning awards.

LOL, did Jay-Z just correct Rhianna??? LOL!!!

You said "coming from a country artist rolleyes" and my point was that Vince should be respected because he *is* actually an artist. shrug

I agree with lastdecember - Kanye is just this decade's Puffy. Nothing more, nothing less.

Now, on to Amy - this performance is totally pre-taped.

Exactly Herbie is a freaking KING, and a legend in playing. And NAS (someone who Kanye dissed) understands about that influence that jazz had.

If he understands about "the influence of jazz" then why is he running around wearing a "nigger" shirt? If he knew what the real meaning behind that word was and how most if not all the REAL JAZZ MUSICIANS back in the day were called that word, not casually but in a derogatory manner, then he wouldn't be glorifing the word by naming it his next album. So why don't you think about that before you preach...
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Amy looks hot, but I still have a bad feeling she is messed up. Something about her seems off and she looks kinda tired, when we see the close up shots.

That being said, I hope she wins record of the year.

And did you see her face the last second before the camera pulled back? WTF?

The girl needs help, and I hope to god she gets it. Back to Black was one of the few albums I bought last year that I though would become solid classics (ala The Cure's "Disintegration" and Beck's "Odelay". She's got so much potential.
