This is one of my favorite songs from the Can't Slow Down album. It's just so smooth and emotional. I didn't know he had these skills after his demise from the Commodores.

Actually I remember on the Booty Call soundtrack, KRS did a song called "Plan Up Your Family" based on this very Lionel Richie track.

I LOVE THIS SONG!! It is truly the best song on the 'Can't Slow Down' album.It's also the most soulful song on that album.This is pure Quiet Storm R&B.Although it never became a single,I hear it regularly on our Quiet Storm/smooth jazz station.It's a heavenly song with a powerful message.

In the Prince:Music and More forum,there's a thread about Prince's 7 Grammys.Many fans can't believe that Lionel's 'Can't Slow Down' album won more awards than Prince's 'Purple Rain'.But I listened to 'Can't Slow Down' the other day and it really is an incredible album.Lionel was at the top of his game in 1983/84.

Can’t Slow Down was a hot album. Guess you had to be there to understand it. This is one of my favorite songs off that album. Love the lyrics (which were really personal for me at the time), music and gentle background vocals.

I remember the title track the most, but yeah, I guess people have forgotten how big this album was well into 1984 (where my actual memory starts).
