Helllloooo....it was like 6 or 7 in the morning in London. (Not saying she couldn't be high) but she probably either had to get up at 3 or 4 to get there, rehearse, hair/make-up or maybe she stayed up all night.

I thought she was fine and her surprise at winning seemed genuine to me. I guess maybe you're not used to recognizing modesty, being a Kanye fan and all. wink

Here we go again with the immaturity. Me recognizing that she was high performing has nothing to do with me being a Kanye fan. If you haven't realized I am an Amy fan, but I DO RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT SHE IS AN ADDICT. And if you have been following this thread you have realized that others recognized and even said that she was high and this was coming from non-Kanye fans...so why don't you check yourself and grow up.

Whoa. Back up. How is implying that Kanye is not modest immature? Are you trying to tell me he is modest? falloff Please.

I'm not the one getting all defensive over Kanye's arrogance...that's you. I see why you like him, you seem to have a similar attitude. I don't think it's me who needs to grow up.

And by the way, I couldn't care less whether Amy's high or not; I am just pointing out that it is quite early in the morning as an alternative to why she seemed "out of it" to some.

Herbie won that award!!! Well good for him.

Well guess there was no MJ tribute performance....how dare them not make us suffer through that.... lol lol lol

Seriously, I'm glad they didn't show it, i'd rather see MJ up there himself performing his own hits.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Too bad it doesn't project well, though. Every time he's presented an award there are parts where you can barely hear what he's saying because his voice is drown out by applause.

Usher and Q on stage together and NO Thriller tribute. That is just sad.

Why should they? Michael is not performing and he's not even there, so it was the right decision to scrap the whole thing! Michael should have denied any rumours of him appearing from the getgo!

Just a little defense of NAS, he is taking a page out of Chuck D's book with that. Back in 2001 CHUCK D put down an amazing RAP on a John Mellecamp track called "Cuttin Heads" in the rap Chuck D basically talked about the double standard of N-word, the best line "I'm Confused they told me N-word contributes to your bottom line"

Yo, I am sooooo pissed. How the hail they gon' play "Beat It" and have Quincy Jones up there and then just end it abruptly. Got me all excited thinking Mike was gonna come out and perform. Maaaaan, that was so lame. They can't do this to people lol.

Overall and compared to at least the last ten years of shows, this one was a pretty good show.

Several performances by artists that I am definitely not a fan of, some good performances and some not so good but it was cool to see this show be a real celebration of music instead of just being a popularity contest. I may not like certain genres of music but I can certainly appreciate talent when I see it. It's cool to see people who love what they do perform.

And since this is a Prince site, I'll comment on Prince's appearance. He rehearsed saying that "joke" so many times before saying it that when he did actually go to say it he stumbled. I thought it was pretty lame.

But he looked good.

I'm watching Kanye's performance. One of the best performances I've seen in a long time.

Stronger was awesome from the visual/effects standpoint

The tribute to his mother gave me chills

It was reported that MJ wouldn't show up unless they gave him an award.
If this is true, and the grammy's refused to give into that freak MJ's demands, then hurray for the grammy's.
And seeing Prince was wonderful, as usual.

Who are you? I mean, really? lol "This conversation is over because I SAY ITS OVER" falloff Are you a moderator? lol Telling someone to "grow up" instead of responding with a thoughtful response just because they point out a hole in your argument is pretty juvenile.

I feel sorry for you to have such a nasty attitude towards people with differing opinions than yours. But again, I guess that might be one reason Kanye appeals to you.

Now, the conversation really is over, because I'm logging off. Ciao! smile

Die hard and realistic MJ fan here. I think MJ fans need to stop waiting for 1980 thru 1988 MJ who was full of confidence and loved being on stage to just show up.

I honestly think MJ is having confidence problems with his appearance and not being on stage in so long. Plus the fact that he is close to 50 years old. Maybe he feels he can't do it like he used to,or maybe he is insecure about his appearance now.

I just say appreciate what he brought to the table when he was in his prime at the top of his game.

Oh I know Michael loves him some awards lol but it was a rumor that he would be appearing or performing, so I'm not really surprised especially since nobody didn't want to see Fergie and Akon do a tribute to Thriller lol
