So not only does Alicia "fake-play" the baby grand twice, they have to have bring out a synth downstage (which looked like it wasn't even plugged in!) for her to fake play something on that?

Horrendous outfit on Alicia.

She really can't sing. "The incomporable Alicia Keys"????

40 years ago girlfriend would have been scrubbing floors at the Motown offices.

Alicia Keys does have a good voice, but her songs are always out of her singing range. The problem with No One is that even the mastered studio version sounds off key. She's needs a good producer who can create songs for her voice. That's just my two cents.

I agree a little. She is not a good vocalist but it is true even the studio version is severely off key. She does play an instrument so she is at least a muscian but she is really putting in some horrible live perfomances in the last few years.

Ringo Starr & some other British dude presented him with the Grammy and he said something like, "A Beatle just presented me with a Grammy. You haven't had that happened yet, have you Kanye?"

So what is her singing range - half an octave? Those songs are not in the dolphin whistle range.

Thank you I agree also!!!!... And for some who think Herbie Hancock is boring.

This is a monster musician who played with the true great African American artists like Miles Davis, Coltrane, etc. Also he also pioneered a hip hop inspired sound back when Kanye was still in diapers. Some of you posters need a music history lesson..

People say Alicia is a muscian, well, WTF does she PLAY?

Air piano?

All her songs are sample loops.

When she does play she sounds like a four year old who's had lessons for a couple months.

lol How much do I love Vince Gill right now! I tuned back in looking for Amy, but that comment was such a serendipitous moment. Well done Vince! I forgot to add that Vince is a real musician whose career has spanned decades he has much more to boast about that Kanye, whose success I am still trying to figure out. I'm sorry but he has always been average to me at best.

Vince Gill thing was priceless. Totally clowned Kanye, but in a very lighthearted, humble way. (and someone can check it, but im pretty sure he's way outsold Kanye careerwise)

As dumb as Rihanna is, I'll cut her some slack, because she is young.
At least Jay-Z tried to make the speech funny. (Or he thinks she is dumb as bricks. I couldn't tell which...)

Looks more and more like Thriller Tribute is NOT gonna happen.
Probably better that way.

Where is Timberfake? Is this dofus closing the show?

Okay so yeah Vince Gill may be a much more accomplished artist in your opinion, but no matter what anybody says on here, Kanye is a creative artist in his own right. He may not be in your eyes, but thats just how me, myself and I think. He's a much more exciting live performer for a hip hop artist, i'd surely enjoy seeing him perform much more than NAS, Jay-Z or Ludicris, who all stand up there rapping a song with an entourage in the background. Kanye is a way better performer than Diddy, although all Diddy does is sample sample sample, yes Kanye does sample, but at least its not just a plain old sample (like Diddy does) he uses it in a creative way. And I also listen to Kanye's words, its not all about the guns the money and the fame with him, he raps about simple daily life things. So yes he is different and I like that. You don't think he's talented, well thats your opinion and I'll respect that, but please respect the fact that there are many fans out here who feel the same way that I do about Kanye...because if they weren't then his albums wouldn't be selling and he surely wouldn't be winning awards.

LOL, did Jay-Z just correct Rhianna??? LOL!!!
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Exactly Herbie is a freaking KING, and a legend in playing. And NAS (someone who Kanye dissed) understands about that influence that jazz had.

Naw I know all about Coltrane, The Bird, Miles, Ellington, Billie and Ella, just because I like Kanye and his music doesn't mean that I need a history lesson. Maybe some of you need a lesson on here to not judge others who have different opinions and tastes in music than you do. Grow up.
