Well evidently Chris Brown is a So You Think You Can Dance? reject they gave a record contract to.

Why do people like Chris Brown so much? Is it because he's a nice guy or that he's young and has potential? What!? He's a sloppy dancer. Maybe it's because he seems to put his heart into it. That's all I can come up with.

Top artists have multiple chances to win at American Music Awards

LOS ANGELES - A slew of top-selling artists headed into Sunday's 2007 American Music Awards with multiple chances to win.

Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park and Daughtry each had three nominations, while Akon, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Young Jeezy, T.I. and Carrie Underwood had two nods each. Avril Lavigne was nominated for Favourite Female Artist.

They were the centre of a full roster of celebrity performers, including Mary Blige, Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Chris Brown, Celine Dion, Duran Duran, Sugarland, Maroon 5, Lenny Kravitz and Rihanna.

The list of presenters was just as stellar, with Christina Applegate, James Blunt, Blair Underwood, Tony Hawk, Snoop Dogg, Slash, Gene Simmons and Usher among those set to hand out trophies in 20 categories.

After two weeks of writer strike-imposed reruns of his late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel was to return to live TV as host of the three-hour ceremony, which was to be broadcast live on ABC from the new Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The show's basic script was written before the strike began last week, but there were no writers to provide Kimmel with his trademark quips about current events.

Now in its 35th year, the American Music Awards honour the best in pop-rock, country, soul-rhythm & blues, rap-hip hop, Latin, alternative, soundtracks, adult contemporary and contemporary inspirational music. Nominees were selected based on national sales and radio play.

For the first time in show history, winners were chosen by public votes cast online.

Stop mentioning Alicia's name in the same sentence as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. STOP IT. Jesus Christ.

And what the FUCK happened to Alicia's voice? Cigarettes????

Sorry but Alicia Keys is horrible.

Terrible performance. We all know its a rip off of where's the love, Out of key, horrible reggae feel on the song. She is garbage and the fact that they introduced her in the same class as Stevie and Ray. Come on.

I don't know why I watch this Sh&t...

I have not heard Alicia sing in key in 3 years plus???? What the hell happened.
Music is the best...

Alicia was alright....It was cool to see some legends of old school reggae get some respect though. One Blood used to be my jam!

Alicia's set could have been tighter if she hadn't let everyone else take over and she just danced away. the dancing was quite lame and not really needed.

but i gotta say that i haven't really watched an awards show in a very long time and boy does modern pop music suck.
