Janet Jackson's "Lonely"

The only reason she gets her tits out all the time is to detract from the blandness of the music. The video for this song is a case in point. There's Joy In Expatriation.

Sorry for spoiling your jan-hate, but there was never a video for this song as far as I know. I think that the only non-single track RN1814 that had a video was "The Knowledge"

I was just about to comment on how much I enjoyed the video from this song, and then I read your comment. I'm fairly certain there is a video for this song, and it seems to me I've seen it on more than a few occasions. Specifically, I remember seeing it playing in the Circuit City store in Union Square, NYC. I can even remember the dance moves and how well I thought it went along with the song.

She's alright really I guess. There is a video there as I distinctly remember that she rips her shirt open to reveal a black bra. She's dressed up like an old 20s gangster. There's Joy In Expatriation.

I know exactly which song you're talking about. It use to be one of my favorites. Still is, I guess. Love that little harmonized bit at the end when she says “lonelee-ee-eee”. And there's no video that I know of either. [Edited 11/7/07 5:08am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

It wasn't a single, so that's why many are confusing it with "I Get Lonely". **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I swear, people just jump at the chance to gripe sometimes without even fully knowing what they're talking about.
Lonely is a beautiful song and - I think - one of her best album tracks. Love it! Those last three songs that round out RN 1814 are among my favorite album endings. And the final track, Someday Is Tonight is so sensual. Both those are in my top 10 Janet songs.

Now I just appreciate it as a lovely song. I think I actually appreciate that album more now than I did when it was originally released. Wasn't it the first (only?) album to have #1 songs in three separate calendar years? One of those dumb chart anomalies that fascinate me.

Okay, I know Someday Is Tonight (heaven on earth is hearing janet's voice accompanied by herb alperts trumpet) but I still haven't a clue which song you all are talking about. Space for sale...

One of only about 5 Janet songs I love. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
