Its not MJ whos 'milking' Thriller, its Sony.

They know it will always make money, and money is what it all comes down to.

Michael wont get a great deal of money from this release.

Casual fans would not.

I think you will be very surprised at how many 'casuals' and 'haters' would be interested in new Michael Jackson material, even if some would not admit it.

The amount of times Ive known people who say they dislike MJ with newer songs like' You rock my world' on thier Ipods says alot.

Actually, this a collaborative project with Michael and Sony has been in the works for nearly a year and a half. For all the ones who are saying Michael's milking Thriller, I think it would be a major disappointment if they let the 25th anniversary pass

I'm hoping the unreleased tracks will include CD quality versions of "Hot Street", "Night Line" and "Trouble". "Got The Hots" would also be a nice added bonus. They were going to put it on the 2001 special edition of Thriller. Maybe this time around they will. If Michael actually recorded the original version of "Thriller" which was called "Starlight", then that would be awesome to have on the CD. And also if he recorded a solo version of "Behind the Mask", that would be cool to hear.

I'm sure the DVD will be the music videos for "Billie Jean", "Beat It", and "Thriller". The same videos that have been on at least three DVDs already.

Who knows?

But I agree with bboy87 that the twenty-fifth anniversary should be marked. And who knows? He actually gave an interview -- something he does not often do. I hope he is steadily but surely making a return to music.

He hasn't said that about the new album yet. Infact, quite the opposite. Will.i.am said in an interview that Michael know he can't outsell Thriller in this day and age and he doesn't want to compete with himself anymore.

ugh I can't believe there's yet MORE reissues of his back catalogue!!! However, I will be buying it cause I do want the new tracks and the DVD. And from what I remember, no one was bitching when Purple Rain had it's 20th anniversary, I remember seeing sections in music stores dedicated to prince cause of the anniversary, so mj deserves it too.

I want new music even more!!!!

I wish Prince and Michael Jackson took advice from one another. Prince needs to take care of his back catalogu, and the latter needs to release new music. nod

But I am still excited for this release!

OK but if you really wanted those music videos, those DVDs are still in print... it's not like this collection is anything new shrug

I certainly don't need this edition

If u want MJ videos, buy the Number Ones DVD at Wal-Mart for $6 and u will have the essential MJ video collection. If you want a definitive collection, pick up both volumes of the HIStory DVDs and the Dangerous videos.

Thanks! But I will still pick this release as well, since there are going to be previously unreleased music videos (I think) on it.
