I have only two copies. One original CD and one remastered one. I don´t feel like having another one. I want something different.

Same here. Im tired of all of the re-releases. I love the album but I dont want to buy something I already have.

Im sure they're gonna re-re-release it again in 2032

What would be cool is if they released a concert on the DVD along with "The Making of Thriller". A small documentary would also be nice talking to the songwriters/producers/musicians, etc. I would also like to see some footage of MJ and Q in the studio working on the album (if there is any).

As for the extra trax, it would be nice to have "Love Never Felt So Good" and Carasel (full version).

The only concert they could put on their is the Victory Tour. A nice doc on Thriller would be nice (like Classic Albums that air on VH1 Classic).

Why don't they just do what they do with "Deluxe Edition" re-releases:

Have one disc of original material plus two, maybe three, maybe four instrumentals.
The second disc be a totally different disc of alternates, instrumentals and the rarities including original versions of songs and even the demos.
Ok, maybe we can have the demos on a third special disc.
Then the fourth disc will be one DVD from the "Making of Thiller" and the videos from the album.
The fifth disc will be another DVD, this time, of highlights from "The Victory Tour"?

Now THAT will be something to celebrate the 25th anniversary. If they ain't gonna do what I recommend on the re-release, they're not ever gonna do it.

Say Say Say is another video from that era that hasn´t been released yet. I´d like other songs than Hot Street, Niteline etc, cause I already have those. lol And they´re ok, but I am sure Mike has better ones. Has anyone heard Love never felt so good? that sounds like something from that era and it´s beautiful!

yeah i have those songs too but some are in bad quality. Love never felt so good is another nice suggestion. How about other outakes such as tomboy, got the hots, al capone, who do you know or even that song written with Greg phillagenes (or what ever his name is) behind the mask. cool

excited

But how many times do I have to own Thriller? Why can´t they release the unreleased stuff as a completely new CD?

As long as the fans will buy it...MJ will milk Thriller until he can't anymore.

Its not MJ whos 'milking' Thriller, its Sony.

They know it will always make money, and money is what it all comes down to.

Michael wont get a great deal of money from this release.

Casual fans would not.

I think you will be very surprised at how many 'casuals' and 'haters' would be interested in new Michael Jackson material, even if some would not admit it.

The amount of times Ive known people who say they dislike MJ with newer songs like' You rock my world' on thier Ipods says alot.

Considering that he has millions of diehard fans who have bought releases of his back catalog several times, I do not think that matters. Furthermore, people from my generation seem to have become much more interested in his music since the 2005 trial.

Not necessarilly true. MJ OWNS the masters of all of his work with Sony. When he re-negotiated his deal in the 90s, he gained copyright to his master recordings. Sony worked out similar deals with Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel around the same time. If you look at all of the material released after 1991, it will say that MJJ Productions owns the copyright and Sony is the distributor (even on the Jacksons material).

Not necessarily. They might be willing to issue a concert done for the Triumph tour (Pre-Thriller). Motown did that for Marvin's What's Going On Deluxe Edition. It featured a concert that was recorded before the album's release.

Either way, I won't complain if a concert is included. Any MJ concert is an event (especially pre-Thriller).

If I was asked whose fam I would wanna be, MJ or M, I would definately choose M lol

Ok I know the bitch has released the worst album in music history(LAV) but atleast she is still active. All MJ has done since Invincible was release compilations, dangle his son out the balcony, do a shitty interview and design suits for each of his court dates disbelief

You can make jibes all you want, but at the end of the day there isnt another album, by Prince or anybody else which has the ability to be 'milked' in the way Thriller can be.

It still sells 60,000 copies a year according to figures, the No.1's CD sold 150,000+ last year without large promotion.

Alot of hardcore MJ fans are nuts and freak me out to be honest, but they will buy anything Michael Jackson related, therefore the Thriller re-release will no doubt sell a very large amount.

nod

I became interested in his music a couple of years ago; I am still soaking in the songs from his six Epic studio albums. Can you believe it? I bought Invincible only a couple of months ago. Before I had listened to a friend's copy.
