thank you finally someone sees that she's this decade's biggest artist like michael in the 80's and mariah in the 90's! she's going to be a legend, she has an old soul when it comes to talent with those pipes and she blends in old school with modern day hip hop culture

i wouldn't put on that level.

she is where Britney was 5 years ago.

everyone saying she was the next Madonna.

the next big thing will come and take her place.

Are you sure about that Sosgemini? VainAndy's intense dislike for Whitney Houston alone makes her a contender for that title. lol lol lol lol

People say she's our generation's Diana Ross, but (even though this is just my opinion), unlike Diana, most of her music is your typical, brainless, club-ready Hot 100 fare anybody could have recorded, both with DC and solo.

Diana has a lot of crap in her discography, but at least has a whole slew of golden Motown oldies and some fine *early* solo material to her name (plus some good acting talent and a classier style). What great, timeless music has Beyonce put out so far? "Can ya pay my automobills"? "My body too bootylicious for ya, baby"? An imitation of "Love To Love You Baby"? Gimme a break. disbelief I'll admit "Crazy In Love" was a pretty good single, though.

dangerously in love is a good song too

How about the double standards in her lyrics? Even in consecutive singles? She needs her main to pay her "Bills, bills, bills" and the following year proudly boasts she is an "Independent Woman". She suspects her man of cheating in "Say My Name" and in the very next single ENCOURAGES cheating in "Jumpin' Jumpin'". And don't even get me started on that mess that is "Irreplaceable".

Her songs suck. Her personality sucks. She sucks. Period!

I don't think she's all that looks-wise at all.

As for her voice, I suppose she's a technically good singer. But her style of singing pisses me right off. All that melisma. disbelief

I agree. Many people say Beyonce is the "new Diana Ross",but Diana actually has GREAT songs in her catalog. She has numerous songs that are considered classics. She was making good music and having hits in the 60s,70s,80s and even the early 90s.Beyonce's music is trendy and completely disposable.

Could she be the most hated/put down artist on this forum? I think she is, but im starting to see the double standards in the discussions. One would be Beyonce's sexy image, short outfits, legs, booty etc.. OK go pick up the last issue of KING magazine and whos on the cover for the second time KELLY ROWLAND, and when you ask people they just say, oh she's just trying to get her "piece" of the action, OK thats fine, but when does a cover like that we trash her like some $2 whore. Another double standard would be the whole Video anthology issue, the complaints were how could she do this, the videos look cheap, and yet if Prince put out a collection of his videos from the 90's, the ones where he shot them all on the same soundstage, we'd lap it up like dogs that hadnt been fed in decades . And i guess the last would be the whole "she is everywhere", well thats just the way it goes sometimes, every decade has that artist(s) that put out stuff all the time, get all the coverage etc, in the 50's you had Elvis, 60's the beatles, the 70's elton and stevie, the 80's michael, madonna and prince, the 90's Mariah, and now you got Beyonce for this decade, thats just the way it goes. Personally i like Beyonce, i would like to see her change some things in her music, but shit i feel that way about any artist that ive liked for a long time, Mariah one of my favorites, i feel she has never done a really good album yet, but Beyonce is still very young, though not in industry standards.

women jealous because she fine...women always hate on someone finer than them and richer, with more booty, and a million dollar boyfriend.....women cant stand that shit

woman trash talk about alot of people , my ex gf said that she and here friends where always bringing other girls down, and i dont think they have to be better looking or have better jobs or grades or what ever it seems they where looking for a reason to diss them
and anyway MJ is the most hated on this forum you hear alot of harsh words about him , and the people who make that comments realy cant judge him cause they dont know him nor beyonce or another celeb

I have no problem with sluts. The sluttier the better. One of the reasons I couldn't stand Shitney Houston when she first came out, wasn't just that her music was boring as hell, but because she had a "good girl" image which I can't stand. I can't stand Beyonce but not because she looks like a slut. That's the only good thing about her.

Videos never impressed me either. I was around before music videos and yes, I love music videos, but not for how expensive they look or the story they tell, but because that was the only way we got to see R&B artists back then other than appearances on "Soul Train" or other TV shows. Cheap videos aren't why I can't stand her either.

And i guess the last would be the whole "she is everywhere", well thats just the way it goes sometimes, every decade has that artist(s) that put out stuff all the time, get all the coverage etc, in the 50's you had Elvis, 60's the beatles, the 70's elton and stevie, the 80's michael, madonna and prince,

I also have no problem with artists "being everywhere" if they are good artists. If they have good music, I want them to be everywhere.

None of those are reasons I can't stand her. I can't stand her because her music (if that's what you want to call it) never gets past midtempo, and even worse, it is shit hop influenced. I don't have a double standard with her though. I hate all shit hop.

Shit hop has dominated R&B since the early 1990s. That's more than 15 years. I grew up with styles changing every five years or so (if they even lasted that long).

I'm used to moving on, and since funk's death, I have gotten into other things such as rock, blues, and even a little touch of jazz that I didn't even have the time of day for when funk was in style. Today's listeners are the ones that have been stuck in a time warp for the last 15 years. It's not their fault though, they were born into the bullshit and don't know anything better. It's not the shit hop artists' fault either. They are just doing what their pimps (the record labels) want them to do....which is making the cheapest music possible. Shit hop artists may call women "bitches" but the artists that make shit hop are the ones that are "ho's".

Everyone is ofcourse entitled to their own opinion, but the level of cruelty aimed at Beyonce concerns me for her safety with her upcoming tour. Disliking an artist professionally is one thing, but having the desire to see them fall is a personal matter where we should start to look within. I'll admit, some of the postings can be reallly funny, but it seems that some of you don't know where to draw the line between reality and entertainment. When you say 'I can't get a way from her' do you mean mentally? And how does an entertainer's career path affect any of us personally? Yeah, her album was a disappointment for me, but Virgin Records has thousands to choose from.
