Who remembers Googie and Tom Coppola's "Joyous Flame"?

I just did some research on the song after hearing it this afternoon on the radio and it appears that it may have only been played in Detroit. Thanks to the DJ that not only played the song today but for also announcing the name of the song and the artist because after all these years, I never knew that information.

Here's a link to the song for your listening pleasure:

Does anyone have any information on this married duo?

biggrin I love that song, and the album it came from, "Shine The Light of Love" (1980), in fact I did a thread on it a few years ago.... I'm surprised that it hasn't been reissued on CD, not even in Japan!! sad

Incidentally, that's DJ Rogers doing the background vocals on "Joyous Flame"....

They used to play it here in DC all the time, too!!!

Googie (Vocals) and Tom (Keyboards) did a lot of session work in the 70's and 80's, recording and touring with artists like Todd Rundgren, The Brecker Brothers, Herbie Mann, Lenny White, The Jacksons (Victory Tour), Airto, and Flora Purim...they were part of a group called Air, that released an album back in 1971 (produced by Herbie Mann), but I think Shine the Light Of Love was their only album under their own names...
