Kylie is so irrelevant in the states she seems to get a lot of pub on this site, but it doesn't seem like folks in the states are even checkin' for Kylie Minogue. her "come back" hit from a few years ago could've easily had any liposuctioned waif singing it. it was hot because of the track.

Well, Im an Australian and I am not a fan of Kylie, however calling her a liposuctioned waif is a bit harsh considering the girl had breast cancer [Edited 5/28/07 23:17pm] PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"

I am an enormous Kylie fan and was born and raised in the US. She has not broken the US market totally because the US market is lame. Her music this decade is the best, most sophisticated pop to be released. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Yep she can...and she carries an entire tour with using lip-synch. She's not like Janet or Madonna.

it's funny how the attacks turn personal on a music site. but maybe i asked for it with the liposuction comment, didn't know she's a cancer survivor, i'm happy for her in that regard. i was truly "ignorant" in that sense,
but about the MUSIC the most complicated pop of the decade and an entire COUNTRY misses out?! even with the "industry" in the US being what it is, kinda hard to believe. others have circumvented it and found an audience. for ex. i had to go find out who Bjork was the buzz on her was so strong. la, la, la, la x 10....i just can't get u outta my head... maybe she's this decade's Donna Summer or something

nah mike you can't blame hip-hop for Kylie's uh, lack.
like i said, i found Bjork. if she's THAT dope, all the more reason why ppl would be flocking to her like say Amy Winehouse or some other foreign import with SKILLS

Most people in the US and Canadian don't even know she exists. The radio played her one song to death (can't even remember the name of it now). I soon got tired of hearing it and seeing the video over and over again. Other than this one song from a few years ago, I agree that she's fairly irrelvant outside of her home country.

Why lay on Kylie? There are PLENTY of US superstars that never made it outside of their home country.

Can we get over ourselves already. The US market is NOT needed anymore to make or break you. There are tons of UK/European acts that have sold more records worldwide, than the MEGA-stars of the USA. The thing now is YOURE dead if you cant appeal overseas, the tide has turned, hear in America you are lucky if you can sell 100,000 copies of a record, so you better take your ass overseas we they are definitely more loyal to music and artists.
Heres a few eamples of getting your following overseas BON JOVI 150,000 million worldwide in sales almost 100 million is overseas. GIRLS ALOUD 40 million in sales, NEVER even on US airwaves a-HA thought they were a one hit wonder? sorry folks, 71 million sold, the million is USA "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

she is the second highest selling female artist in the UK and Europe behind a certain American. She is a Gay Diva is most every major American City. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Thank you. At what point will we let the arrogance go already? That's why we've squandered all of our goodwill throughout the world as it is, with the arrogant attitude that we're the hottest shit that everybody has to cow tow in order to be a "success". But by whose standards? Trust me, Kylie is doing fine. She has a level of success that she's probably more than satisfied with and the matter of 'breaking' the US market would simply be more a matter of vanity than anything else. Honestly, the nerve of some people...
