I can't sit back and listen to Sly talking about A Family Affair and then have the same love for most of those artists you named. Those artists except for Amy Winehouse who I have never listened to are dance and fluff music to me.
Sorry Beamie. No apology necessary. There aren't any rules about what anyone should like or dislike. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

for me to say that i ONLY like super deep, super substantial music is like me saying that i will only eat the healthiest, most organically produced, most top notch food i can find. sure, that's a great standard to aspire to, but i'll be damned if i don't wanna snack down on a box of little debbies or scarf down some taco bell once in a while. i think there's a lot of fluffy pop music that has some really interesting texture and craft to it if you're willing to pay attention, and sometimes there's just some really banal, stupid pop music out there that just so happens to be catchy as hell and can catch me in its headlights. i know it's crap, but i'm a sucker for a really catchy melody, so if i like it, i like it. there's a lot of shit i won't give the time of day, but hey - if it saves someone else's life, then great. frank zappa of all people said there's no such thing as "shit music", as long as one person really believes in it. of course, he was hardly one to carry the torch for musical tolerance, but still...nice quote.

Other album that he produced in that era like diana, notorious or let's dance are galaxies away in terms of quality. Like a virgin is not true madonna, but just her being a prostitute of the pop charts... Your hatred for that album is hysterical. Just for that, Mike, I'm KEEPING my avatar for awhile longer!! I'm a music snob. The ONLY times I lower my standards is when I'm at a party and they play their music. Some songs are okay to dance to occasionally, but to listen to? HELL FUCKING NO
and must I explain my hate for R.Kelly and Akon AND T-Pain?????!!! "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Justin Timberlake - calling this guy a fucking pansy would be an insult to fucking pansies of the world. Timbaland - a fucking fatass who steals songs from retro computer music archives and calls them "video games" (fucking shithead, learn your nethack) Amy Winehouse - pls, if I am going to spend money on a hooker at least I want a good looking one (not one who looks like she was just fucking shot in the face). MIKA - this guy should be fucking shot in the face. Ah, now I know why I always end up coming back to the org.
