How the hell did Girls Aloud sell 40 million CDs in 5 years? They've been around since '02, and have only sold over 4 million CDs in England (which is their biggest market). I think the 40 million is quite excessive. It's like the new "100 Million Copies of Thriller" figure that has been banded around here lately. It's pretty suspicious, IMO. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Yeah and Robbie Williams hasn't hit it big in the US either because we just don't appreciate his enormous talent.

I always thought that of Kylie as more of a cult artist in the US. She's definitely popular with the gays, that's for sure. I'm not gay, but I'm a total nightlife vulture, so being that Kylie seems to be pretty down with clubbers, she's cool in my book, and "Fever" is a terrific dance album.
Look at it this way..she scored a MAJOR hit stateside with "Can't Get You Out of my Head", scored another minor hit "Love at First Sight", and sold millions off of that album. Granted, nothing else after has done so great in the states, but her singles still manage to top out on the US dance charts(as alot of nightclubs tend to spin Kylie). So really, she's gone somewhat farther in the US than most UK stars have gone. She's definitely gone further than Robbie Williams in the states, that's for sure. Im pretty sure he could also find success if his lazy ass did decent promotion in the US.

You honestly believe that? Kylie is my number one artist of the 00s. Björk is close at number 2. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Would peeps like the Beatles, Madonna, Prince, MJ and Elvis, still be held in such high esteem if their success was limited to their home country or surrounding continent, I doubt it. The fact of the matter is both America and Europe are important if you want to stamp your authority in music history.
