I've listened to the album at least 3 times...It's really a masterpiece. The following songs are now cult material for me:

so does the album contain any tracks that sound like Pele or Choirgirl

After a focused few listens, the album starts to really pick up from Father's Son (track 13).
Father's Son: Sounds like it was taken right out of a beekeeper session (which's a compliment) Code Red: A Scarlet's Walk sounding track (think Carbon, only electrified) Beauty of Speed: flows a bit in the atmosphere of Black Dove Velvet Revolution: This could be a piece that belongs to an obscure Italian film, it's that gorgoues Dark Side of The Sun: Another Scarlet sounding track, very pretty. Smokey Joe: same as Dark Side Dragon: Classic Tori with her piano .. Those were my highlights so far. As for the remaining pieces, they still need quite a time to digest for most of them are very different Tori (in a fresh, breezy way). | |
